    Abstract: A target user equipment (UE), which may be a vehicle or UE carried by a pedestrian, may receive sequentially broadcast ranging signals from a set of ranging source entities (SEs), which may be road side units or other vehicles. The target UE further receives location information separately broadcast by each SEs. The location information, for example, may include the position for the SE, the time of transmission of the ranging signals transmitted by the SE and/or a sequence identifier for the SE. The target UE may determine ranges to the SEs using time of arrival measurements for the ranging signals and the time of transmissions of the ranging signals or the sequence identifier received in the location information. The position of the target UE may be determined using the determined ranges to the SEs and the positions of the SEs received in the location information.

    Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating beam-based sequence spaces for synchronization signals are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication for a first device includes selecting a subset of synchronization signal block (SSB) occasions including SSB occasions within an SSB period, and wherein the subset of SSB occasions is associated with a pairing of a primary synchronization signal (PSS) and a secondary synchronization signal (SSS). The example method also includes transmitting an SSB using at least one SSB occasion from the subset of SSB occasions. An example method for wireless communication for a user equipment (UE) includes selecting a synchronization signal pairing associated with a pairing of a PSS and a SSS, wherein the synchronization signal pairing maps to a subset of SSB occasions including SSB occasions within an SSB period, and also includes monitoring for an SSB at each SSB occasion from the subset of SSB occasions.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE), e.g., such as a pedestrian UE (PUE), may detect, during a first transmission period of a discontinuous transmission cycle, a transmission over a sidelink channel from a second UE that is located within a threshold distance from the first UE, the first UE associated with a first identifier. The first UE may determine, based at least in part on the transmission, a second identifier associated with the second UE, the second identifier being different from the first identifier. The first UE may use, based at least in part on the second UE being within the threshold distance, the first identifier and the second identifier during one or more subsequent transmission periods of the discontinuous transmission cycle.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration to be used by the UE for cellular communication with the base station, wherein the DRX configuration indicates a DRX cycle that includes an active time during which the UE is to monitor a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) and an inactive time during which the UE is to refrain from monitoring the PDCCH; identify a time window for sidelink communication with another UE based at least in part on the DRX configuration; and communicate using one or more sidelink resources in the identified time window.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques relate to the categorization of resources in a system to enable a user equipment (UE) to determine whether resources may be reclaimed. At least two categories may be defined for the resources, and the UE may use various criteria for categorizing the resources in a system. For example, the UE may include a first set of resources in an “available” category and a second set of resources in an “occupied” category. Resources in the “occupied” category may be indicated as occupied by another UE's sidelink channel information. In cases where resources are indicated as reserved for retransmission by another UE, but no feedback is detected, then the UE may use additional parameters to determine whether those resources may be reclaimed for its own transmission and may categorize the resources accordingly.
