    Abstract: An image decoding/encoding method and device disclosed herein can: generate a first prediction block of the current block on the basis of a first prediction mode; generate a second prediction block of the current block on the basis of a second prediction mode; determine weights used for the current block on the basis of a weight candidate list including a plurality of pre-defined weight candidates; generate a third prediction block of the current block through the weighted summation of the first prediction block and the second prediction block; and decode/encode the current block on the basis of the third prediction block of the current block.

    Abstract: An image decoding/encoding method and device according to the present disclosure may: derive a motion vector for the current block on the basis of a merge inter mode; correct the motion vector of the current block; generate a first prediction block in a first direction and a second prediction block in a second direction, on the basis of the motion vector of the current block; and generate a prediction block for the current block on the basis of the first prediction block and the second prediction block. The motion vector of the current block includes a first motion vector in the first direction and a second motion vector in the second direction, wherein the first motion vector may be derived on the basis of the first inter-prediction mode and the second motion vector may be derived on the basis of the second inter-prediction mode.

    Abstract: An image decoding method includes: acquiring, from a bitstream, luma weight L0 flag information indicating whether there is an L0 prediction-related weight factor and luma weight L1 flag information indicating whether there is an L1 prediction-related weight factor; determining to apply decoder-side motion vector refinement (DMVR) to an L0 motion vector and L1 motion vector for a current block, when the luma weight L0 flag information and the luma weight L1 flag information are both zero; when it has been determined to apply DMVR, deriving a refined L0 motion vector and a refined L1 motion vector by applying the DMVR to the current block; deriving prediction samples for the current block on the basis of L0 prediction using the refined L0 motion vector and L1 prediction using the refined L1 motion vector; and generating reconstruction samples for the current block on the basis of the prediction samples.

    Abstract: An image decoding method according to the present document is characterized in that: decoder-side motion vector refinement (DMVR) is applied to derive refined L0 and L1 motion vectors on the basis of L0 and L1 motion vectors of the current block; prediction samples of the current block are derived on the basis of L0 prediction samples derived on the basis of the refined L0 motion vector and L1 prediction samples derived on the basis of the refined L1 motion vector; and recovery samples of the current block are generated on the basis of the prediction samples, wherein the L0 prediction samples are derived on the basis of an L0 reference picture and the refined L0 motion vector, the L1 prediction samples are derived on the basis of an L1 reference picture and the refined L1 motion vector, and in the step for deriving the prediction samples, whether to apply a bi-directional optical flow (BDOF) process is determined on the basis of whether a first POC difference between the current picture and the L0 reference picture and a second POC difference between the current picture and the L1 reference picture are the same.
