Abstract: Embodiments of an access point (AP) may comprise memory and processing circuitry coupled to the memory, and transceiver circuitry coupled to the processing circuitry. The processing circuitry of the AP may be configured to generate a trigger frame to allocate a center 26 tone RU for an HE-trigger-based PPDU, the center 26 tone RU having an adjacent upper 20 MHz subchannel and an adjacent lower 20 MHz subchannel. In an embodiment, the center 26 tone RU is for a station (STA) and wherein the trigger frame indicates to the STA to transmit a pre-HE-STF preamble on one of the adjacent upper 20 MHz subchannel, the adjacent lower 20 MHz subchannel, or both the adjacent upper and lower 20 MHz subchannels, and configure the wireless device to transmit the trigger frame to the station.

Abstract: In one example, a method for synchronizing connectivity in a wireless communication network includes participating in a communication on a management plane between at least one station and a first access point. The management plane includes a first frequency. A service period element specifies a plurality of terms of one or more service periods during which at least one station connects to a second access point over a data plane. The data plane includes a second radio frequency different from the second radio frequency. The method also includes participating in the one or more service periods on the data plane according to the terms specified by the service period element.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, computer readable media for multi-user (MU) request-to-send (RTS) and clear-to-send (CTS) with null data packet (NDP) CTSs and response polling. An apparatus of a wireless device comprising processing circuitry is disclosed. The processing circuitry may be configured to encode a MU-RTS including station identifications and indications of 20 MHz channels for the stations to transmit CTSs. The processing circuitry may be configured to configure the access point to transmit the MU-RTS. The processing circuitry may be configured to encode a trigger frame for polling, the trigger frame including the station identifications and indications of short feedback resource units for the stations identified by the station identifications. The processing circuitry may be configured to decode short feedback from the stations in accordance with the short feedback resource units where the short feedback is in response to the trigger frame for polling and the MU-RTS.

Abstract: This disclosure describes methods, devices, and systems related to generate a trigger frame including one or more resource block identifications (RBIDs), each RBID being associated with a respective resource unit of one or more resource units on a communication channel; cause to transmit the first trigger frame to each of one or more devices; process a received power save poll (PS-poll) bit from a first device of the one or more devices on a spatial stream and a first resource unit of the one or more resource units; cause to transmit an acknowledgment to each of the one or more user devices; cause to transmit data buffered in the at least one processor to the first device; and process a received acknowledgment from the first device confirming receipt of the data.

Abstract: In single user OFDM wireless communication, the serial bit stream in a Medium access control Protocol Data Unit (MPDU) to be transmitted may be split up and routed in parallel through different encoding modules. In one embodiment the entire bit stream may be processed through an LDPC, and the output of the LDPC module split up before being routed to different Modulation Modules that each select a separate MCS for the associated sub-band. In another embodiment the bit stream may be split up before being processed separately through multiple LDPC modules, and the output of each LDPC module may then be routed to a different associated Modulation Module for selection of a separate MCS for the associated sub-band.

Abstract: When performing a contention protocol, such as Listen-Before-Talk (LBT), an Long Term Evolution (LTE)-Licensed Assisted Access (LAA) node dynamically adapts the ED threshold used by the LTE-LAA node depending on whether other transmission nodes are detected at the frequency components that are to be used by the LTE-LAA node. In one implementation, the ED threshold value may initially be set to a conservative value, and when other transmissions nodes are not detected, the ED threshold value may be set to a more aggressive value. In another implementation, the ED threshold value may initially be set to a more aggressive value, and only when another transmission node is detected, the ED threshold value may be set to a more conservative value. In yet another possible implementation, the ED threshold value and the transmit power may be proportionally modified, for a particular UE, based on a parameter associated with the UE.

Abstract: This disclosure describes methods, apparatus, and systems related to providing a source device more degrees of freedom in the performing CCA, and in using CCA for communicating with neighboring devices. Before accessing the channel, a source device may need to perform carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA), the CSMA/CA additionally comprising CCA. In various embodiments, CCA can be performed either using quasi-omnidirectional receiving antenna(s), or using directional receiving antenna(s). In one embodiment, one or more requisite conditions for performing directional CCA can be specified. In another aspect, sensitivity level adjustments can be provided when performing directional CCA and/or quasi-omnidirectional CCA.

Abstract: A wireless communication device, a system, and a method. The device may use memory circuitry and processing circuitry to process a packet wirelessly transmitted to the STA from a serving AP. The packet may be configured according to a first wireless communication protocol from a serving AP, such as, for example, WLAN. The wireless communication device may further process a low modulation packet configured according to a second wireless communication protocol from a candidate access point, the low modulation packet being at a modulation rate lower than a lowest modulation rate for the first wireless communication protocol. The second wireless communication protocol may be the LP-WU radio communication protocol. The device may determine a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) value of the low modulation packet, and may further process a frame including information on an address or signature, such as a Service Set Identifier (SSID) for the serving AP corresponding to the candidate access point, the frame being from the serving access point, from the candidate access point, or from another wireless communication device. The device may then associate the RSSI value with the address of the candidate access point, and trigger transition of the device from the serving access point to the candidate access point based on the RSSI value and on the address of the candidate access point.

Abstract: Devices and methods of limiting wideband STA communication are generally described. The STA receives, over a primary channel, a wakeup frame containing an indication of a SP or CBAP to acquire a wideband TXOP over a wide bandwidth channel including the primary channel and a secondary channel and a control trailer having an indication of the wide bandwidth channel. Prior to the SP/CBAP, the STA opens reception from the primary channel to the wide bandwidth channel. The STA then communicates with another STA over the wide bandwidth channel and subsequently reduces reception from the wide bandwidth channel to the primary channel. The wakeup frame originates from an AP/PCP or the other STA, and contains fields indicating the wakeup frame length and SP or a sensing time length prior to the CBAP.
