Abstract:
A semiconductor memory device stably performs a read operation at a high frequency, thereby reducing a current consumption. The semiconductor memory device is capable of performing the read operation stably by controlling a data eye. The semiconductor memory device includes an output unit and a data eye control unit. The output unit outputs data in synchronization with clock signals. The data eye control unit controls a data eye of the data output by the output unit.
Abstract:
A semiconductor device and a method for manufacturing the same. The method includes setting a pattern region, forming a series of virtual mesh lines on the pattern region, forming a plurality of patterns in the pattern region, and substituting each of the patterns with either a red (R), green (G), or blue (B) patterns in accordance with a contact rule between the virtual mesh lines. Accordingly, it is possible to enhance the pattern uniformity between a main pattern region and a dummy pattern region, and thus to secure a uniform critical dimension (CD) of each pattern. Also, the patterning process for the color filter can be automatized to minimize the amount of data required to design a pattern. Also, the designing and manufacturing processes can be simplified, meaning that they can be more rapidly and precisely achieved.
Abstract:
A layout method for a mask can include creating dummy pattern inhibiting regions and a single dummy pattern type for a layer. A cell can be formed in which a first main pattern is formed. A second main pattern can be formed in a main chip layout, and the cell can be inserted into the main chip. A dummy pattern inhibiting region can be created on the basis of the first main pattern and the second main pattern. Then, a single dummy pattern type can be formed over the entire main chip layout. Dummy patterns that interact with the dummy pattern inhibiting region can be removed.
Abstract:
A backlight assembly includes a light source providing light, a mold frame receiving the light source unit and a bottom chassis. The bottom chassis includes a bottom plate, sidewalls extending from the bottom plate and an extension part bent from at least one of the sidewalls and overlapping an adjacent sidewall. The mold frame and the bottom chassis are integrally formed. The extension part overlaps the adjacent sidewall at a corner of the bottom chassis. Thus, the torsional strength of the bottom chassis and a backlight assembly having the bottom chassis is improved. The torsional strength is maintained when a backlight assembly is manufactured.
Abstract:
Upsampling for video signals is described. In particular chroma pixels may be upsampled in a luminance, chrominance signal using motion adaptive approaches. In one example, the operations include selecting an absent chroma pixel of the current frame, developing a spatial candidate value for the absent chroma pixel using pixel values for nearby pixels in the current frame, developing a temporal candidate value for the absent chroma pixel using pixel values for nearby pixels in the previous and subsequent frames, computing a value for the absent chroma pixel by combining the spatial candidate value and the temporal candidate value, and producing an output video frame including the computed absent chroma pixel values.
Abstract:
In a photomask layout for forming a photomask pattern, the photomask layout includes a first mother pattern corresponding to a principal pattern of the photomask pattern, a second mother pattern corresponding to a supplementary pattern of the photomask pattern and a guide pattern that controls the shot size of illumination light for transcribing the first and the second mother patterns, respectively. The principal pattern is transcribed onto a semiconductor substrate, and the supplementary pattern is positioned between the principal patterns and prevents transcription failures of the principal pattern without transcription onto the semiconductor substrate. The shot size of the light is reduced on a basis of the guide pattern to thereby accurately form a minute pattern of the semiconductor device.

In a method of providing video-call service using a general voice-call terminal and a Private Branch Exchange (PBX) for performing the method, the following steps or functions are performed: exchanging, at a PBX, video media information with a video-support adaptor for providing video-call service to a voice-call terminal; and exchanging, at the PBX, moving picture media information to be used by the voice-call terminal and the video-support adaptor with a counterpart video-call terminal so as to establish a session between the video-support adaptor and the counterpart video-call terminal. The PBX includes a call processor and a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) agent. It is possible to provide video-call service between a conventional terminal not having a video screen and various videophone apparatuses by interworking the conventional terminal with SIP-based video software or hardware.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to Escherichia coli variants that have increased antibiotics susceptibility, diffusion efficiency, and transformation efficiency. The variants can minimize the problems caused by biofilm formation such as increased resistance to antibiotics, decreased solute diffusion efficiency, and lowered transformation efficiency. According to the present invention, when selecting genetically-modified E. coli variants, not only a lesser amount of antibiotics is required when selecting desirable variants, but also the reduction of selection efficiency caused by biofilm formation by strains other than the variants to be selected, thus decreasing exhibiting resistance to antibiotics, can be avoided. Additionally, in the process of materials production, the amount of secreted products could be increased due to the increased solute diffusion efficiency. Furthermore, the increased transformation efficiency makes the mass production of useful materials easier.

A semiconductor device reduces unnecessary operating current while an internal row/column address is generated. The semiconductor memory device includes an address input unit for transferring an address signal inputinput from an external device; an internal column address generating unit for receiving the transferred address signal to generate an internal column address; an internal row address generating unit for receiving the transferred address signal to generate an internal row address; and an internal address control unit for controlling the internal row address generating unit in response to an activated states of banks in the semiconductor memory device.
Abstract:
An LCD device has scratch-resistant property without using a protection sheet and can provide enhanced brightness. The LCD device includes a light path regulating member. The member includes a first prism sheet having first prisms of which apex has a round shape. The first prism sheet concentrates light supplied from a lamp to output the concentrated light. An anti-glare polarizing plate uniformly polarizes polarized planes of the concentrated light and provides the polarized light to the lower substrate. The anti-glare polarizing plate is arranged below the lower substrate of an LCD panel, and an uppermost prism sheet of optical sheets is non-matte-treated and has round-treated apexes. In spite of the absence of the protection sheet, the scratch-resistant property of the uppermost prism sheet and the brightness of the LCD panel may be enhanced.
