摘要: A document identification system incorporating an identification card bearing image indicia that is sensed and tested for comparison with reference data. The image indicia on the card, e.g. a photographic likeness of the card assignee, is dissected to provide representative pixel data. Individual image pixel representations are quantized, digitized and stored in an escort memory, e.g. a magnetic stripe on the card. The card is verified by again sensing the image indicia and processing the data as before. The resultant test data is correlated with the reference data from the escort memory. The composite indication of the correlation is manifest as an acceptance or a rejection and also as a two-dimensional binary display (black or white pixel areas) to reveal an analysis of the correlation for manual interpretation. The display is variable for different levels of detail.

摘要: A process controlling the use of a document reserved to the titleholder along or to the authorized bearer, and is characterized by consisting prior to the activation of the document in integrating into a predetermined zone of the document a predetermined and random coded transcription of a set of letters and/or digits constituting a secret "word" known only to the titleholder, the coded data being spread across a matrix of n rows and p columns, in comparing at the time the document is used the coded data with a "word" issued by the document bearer following the transcription in the same code, and in determining and displaying whether in there is coincidence or not.The process applies in particular to checks or the like. The invention also relates to the documents and the coding and reading means designed or developed to implement this process.

摘要: A method for establishing and reading secret information using holographic interference pattern techniques. A holographic plate is placed in a holder and exposed with a laser light reflected from an object and a reference laser light to create a hologram. The exposed hologram is removed and a second holographic plate is inserted into the holder. The object, which may be a matrix, is selectively deformed to provide letters or numbers in accordance with the secret information to be established. The second holographic plate is then exposed with a light reflected from the deformed object and with the reference laser light to create a second hologram. The information contained on each hologram, when viewed individually, appears to be substantially identical. However, when the two holograms are later combined and illuminated, the secret information in the form of a holographic interference pattern will be observed in the hologram.

摘要: A falsification-proof identity card comprises a first transparent layer on the underneath side of which conventional data is applied by printing technology. The card contains a holographic safeguard and additional safety measures such as metal structures, fluorescent structures, safety imprints and the like which are only visible in response to holographic reconstruction and/or other light applications, such as ultra-violet light. The holographic safeguard comprises a second transparent or non-transparent layer which carries on the entire surface which faces the first layer a phase hologram or an amplitude hologram which can be read out by light transmission or by light reflection, depending on the transparency of the layer, and which contains at least the visible data printed on the first layer in a direct recording.

摘要: Data is recorded in holographic form on elongate film strips in a plurality of parallel, longitudinally extending hologram rows. The film is longitudinally moved past a light beam to reconstruct holographic patterns which are then sensed. The light beam is perpendicular to the film and movable transversely to the film so that any holograph row can be illuminated. The recorded holograms in a row can be searched for comparison with a reference number or symbol for credit card verification and the like in which a small subgroup of members, such as those who forfeited their credit, are to be identified. The reference numbers of the members of the subgroup are recorded on the film and a given member, that is the reference number of a given customer, is compared with the recorded holograms. The reference number of each member of the group is assigned to a particular row so that his number will appear in one and only one row of holograms on the film. Consequently, only one row needs to be scanned to determine the presence or absence of the given member in the subgroup.

摘要: A card dispenser is provided comprising a capture chamber configured to receive a card dispensed from a read position by a card feed mechanism, the capture chamber comprising walls defining an exit aperture for dispensing a card to a user. A capture flap is moveable from a first orientation to a second orientation, wherein in the first orientation the capture flap is arranged to block the exit aperture so as to prevent a card from passing through said exit aperture, and in the second orientation the capture flap is arranged to guide a card through said exit aperture. If a first output is received from a communication module, the capture flap is held at the first orientation such that a card dispensed from a read position moves under the influence of gravity through the capture chamber into a card bin. If a second output is received, the capture flap is moved from the first orientation to the second orientation such that a card dispensed from the read position slides along the capture flap under the influence of gravity through the exit aperture.
