Abstract: A mobile relay generates a synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel block (SSB) for the mobile relay using at least one of a primary synchronization signal (PSS) for mobile relays that is different than a stationary base station PSS, a secondary synchronization signal (SSS) for mobile relays that is different than a stationary base station SSS, a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) that is different than a stationary base station PBCH, or a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) associated with the PBCH that is different than a stationary base station DMRS. After generating the SSB, the mobile relay broadcasts the SSB. A UE receiving the SSB determines that the SSB is from a mobile relay based, at least in part, on information comprised in the SSB.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication that over come problems associated with conventional approaches including load balancing and handover efficiency issues. In one aspect a wireless communication technique takes into account the load of a donor gNB before a relay decides to reselect from one donor gNB to another. In another aspect, a wireless communication technique ensures that relays are handed over to base stations that will be able to serve the relay as the mobile relay continues to follow its expected path (e.g. streets or tracks).

Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to sidelink-assisted virtual multi-link. In one aspect, for example, a relay node may serve as an additional virtual antenna panel for a UE by receiving downlink data from a base station via an access link, or receiving uplink data from the UE via a sidelink. The relay node may forward the downlink data to the UE via sidelink, or the uplink data to the base station via the access link. In another aspect, a base station may determine, for a UE, quasi-colocation (QCL) information and a grant for one or both of one or more access link resources or one or more sidelink resources. The base station may further transmit, to the UE, the QCL information and the grant on a downlink communication channel.

Abstract: Aspects relate to managing a device-to-device communication link via radio resource control (RRC) layer signaling. In an example operation, a first wireless communication device establishes a unicast link with a second wireless communication device over a device-to-device communication interface and determines that the unicast link is to be reconfigured with at least one updated parameter. The first wireless communication device then sends a link reconfiguration request to the second wireless communication device via a first RRC message over the communication interface. The first RRC message includes the at least one updated parameter. The first wireless communication device receives a link reconfiguration response from the second wireless communication device via a second RRC message over the communication interface based on the link reconfiguration request and determines whether to reconfigure the unicast link using the at least one updated parameter based on the received link reconfiguration response.

Abstract: An improved manner of transmitting and receiving messages in sidelink communication is presented in which a wireless device receives sidelink control information (SCI) that indicates a zone ID associated with a sidelink message. The wireless device determines a location of the wireless device and determines whether to send feedback for the sidelink message based, at least in part, on the zone ID associated with the sidelink message and the location of the wireless device. The feedback may include hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback, and the sidelink message may include a groupcast message. The wireless device may further receive an indication of an intended range in the SCI and may determine whether to send the feedback based on a combination of the zone ID and the intended range for the sidelink message.

A reflective indicator can be set in a header of the first packet to indicate a configuration, including a QoS value, to be used by a receiving device in transmitting a second packet. Abstract: A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus for V2V, V2X, or D2D communication may be a transmitting device configured to determine a source ID for communication over a link, to determine a destination ID for the communication over the link based on a type of the communication. The transmitting device may be further configured to transmit at least one control message over the link, where the control message(s) indicate the source ID and the destination ID. In certain aspects, a receiving device may be configured to receive the control message over the link, where the control message indicates the source ID and the destination ID. The receiving device may be configured to receive a data message over the link and to determine whether to attempt to decode the data message received over the link based on the source ID and the destination ID indicated in the control message.
