Abstract: Exchange of flight path information between a mobile network and an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) assumes a particular format for the flight path information, usually a waypoint format. However, there are many circumstances in which the mobile network may prefer flight path information in other formats, such as polygon formats (also referred to as “flight volume formats”). Techniques and apparatuses described herein provide greater flexibility with respect to formatting requests for flight path information and encoding responses to such requests. For example, a base station may transmit a request for flight path information with a format indicator that informs a UAV of a desired format for the requested flight path information. The UAV may then provide the flight path information according to the format indicator.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides techniques that may be applied, for example, in a multi-slice network for maintaining privacy when attempting to access the network. An exemplary method generally includes transmitting a registration request message to a serving network to register with the serving network; receiving a first confirmation message indicating a secure connection with the serving network has been established; transmitting, after receiving the first confirmation message, a secure message to the serving network comprising an indication of at least one configured network slice that the UE wants to communicate over, wherein the at least one configured network slice is associated with a privacy flag that is set; and receiving a second confirmation message from the serving network indicating that the UE is permitted to communicate over the at least one configured network slice.

Abstract: Techniques for modification of data sessions may allow changing of user plane functions (UPFs) that serve a data session. A UE may identify a user plane of a first data session is to be relocated from a first UPF, and may initiate a second data session with a second UPF using an identification associated with the first data session. In some cases, the first data session may be modified to be served by the second UPF rather than the first UPF. A network entity, such as a session management function (SMF) may determine that a user plane of a first data session of a UE is to be relocated away from a first UPF, and may perform a user plane relocation of the first data session via establishing a second data session at a second UPF or via modifying the first data session to be served by a second UPF.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for maximizing the potential of resources dedicated to aerial user equipment (UEs). In one example, a UE may receive signaling indicating that a cell supports communications exclusively with aerial UEs. The signaling may be used to bar non-aerial UEs from accessing the cell and reserve resources for communications with aerial UEs. In another example, a UE may receive signaling identifying one or more frequency bands dedicated to aerial UEs. The UE may then communicate on the one or more frequency bands. In yet another example, a UE may receive signaling indicating a set of aerial access categories supported by a cell. The signaling may be used to reserve resources for high-priority aerial UEs (e.g., aerial UEs used for law enforcement purposes).
