Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for scanning existing networks in TV White Space are disclosed. For scanning existing networks at a station to operate as an unlicensed device in a regulatory domain where a licensed device and the unlicensed device are permitted to operate, the method comprises: receiving a white space map (WSM) comprising information for available channels to be used for the unlicensed device to operate a wireless local area network (WLAN) operation and maximum transmission powers allowed for each of the available channels from an enabling station, wherein the enabling station is a station determining the available channels at its location using its own geographic location identification and a regulatory database access capability; and scanning the existing networks on the available channels identified within the received WSM.

Abstract:
A method and a device for reporting a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) feedback in a wireless local area network are provided. A responding station receives, from a requesting station, a requesting Physical layer Protocol Data Unit (PPDU) for requesting a MCS feedback via a plurality of spatial streams. A recommended MCS is estimated under an assumption that the requesting station will transmit at least one first spatial stream among the plurality of spatial streams used for the requesting PPDU, The responding station transmits, to the requesting station, the MCS feedback including a recommended MCS field indicating the recommended MCS and a recommended stream field indicating a number of at least one recommended spatial stream. A number of the at least one first spatial stream used for estimating the recommended MCS is equal to the number of the at least one recommended spatial stream.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus of accessing a channel in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes receiving a first frame including configuration information on a channel allocated from a bandwidth including a primary channel, a secondary channel and an extension channel from an access point (AP), and transmitting a second frame to the AP by using the allocated channel. The configuration information includes an extension channel offset element field that sets the extension channel as the offset of the primary channel.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and apparatus for multi-channel operation, performed by an access point (AP), in a WLAN system, the method includes: transmitting channel assignment information to a plurality of stations (STAs), in which the channel assignment information is for assigning at least one of a first channel and a second channel to each of the plurality of STAs; transmitting channel activity information to the plurality of STAs, in which the channel activity information is for indicating an activity duration where the ΛP transmit or receive a frame through each of the first channel and the second channel; and transmitting or receiving a frame through the first channel or the second channel on the basis of the channel activity information.
Abstract:
A method and device for communicating in a wireless local area network are discussed. The method can include selecting, by a transmitting station, a transmission channel by performing a Clear Channel Assessment (CCA) and transmitting, by the transmitting station, a Physical layer Protocol Data Unit (PPDU) over the selected transmission channel to a receiving station, wherein the transmission channel includes a primary 20 MHz channel and a secondary 20 MHz channel if the secondary 20 MHz channel was idle, and wherein the transmission channel includes the primary 20 MHz channel, the secondary 20 MHz channel and a secondary 40 MHz channel if both the secondary 20 MHz channel and the secondary 40 MHz channel were idle.
Abstract:
A method and device for receiving a data block in a wireless communication system, the method performed by a receiver. The method includes: receiving a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) from a transmitter over an operating channel, the PPDU including a signal field, a Very High Throughput-Signal-A (VHT-SIG-A) field, a Very High Throughput-Signal-B (VHT-SIG-B) field and a padded data block, generating a first data block by removing zero or more physical padding bits from the padded data block in a physical layer; and generating a second data block by removing zero or more Medium Access Control (MAC) padding bits from the first data block in a MAC layer.
Abstract:
A method for transmitting a data unit, performed by a transmitting station, in a wireless local area network system is provided. The method includes generating a repeated bit sequence, generating an interleaved bit sequence by interleaving the repeated bit sequence, generating at least one symbol by modulating the interleaved bit sequence, generating at least one OFDM symbol by performing IDFT (Inverse Discrete Fourier Transform) on the at least one symbol and transmitting the at least one OFDM symbol.

Abstract:
A method for channel access in a wireless local area network is provided. The method includes: transmitting, a plurality of Request To Send (RTS) frames over a plurality of subchannels to a receiver, each RTS frame being transmitted over each of the plurality of subchannels; receiving at least one Clear To Send (CTS) frame over at least one subchannel among the plurality of subchannels from the receiver; each CTS frame being transmitted over each of the at least one subchannel, transmitting a data unit to the receiver. The data unit includes at least one data frame. The at least one data frame is transmitted over at least one selected subchannel among the at least one subchannel, each data frame being transmitted over each selected subchannel.
Abstract:
A method for communicating in a wireless local area network. The method according to one embodiment includes transmitting, by a first station, a plurality of a request to send (RTS) frames to a second station through a plurality of subchannels; receiving, by the first station, at least one clear to send (CTS) frame; and transmitting, by the first station, a data frame to the second station. If the at least one CTS frame includes channel information indicating all of the at least one idle subchannel through which the at least one CTS frame is transmitted, the data frame is transmitted via the at least one idle subchannel indicated by the channel information, and if the at least one CTS frame does not include the channel information, the data frame is transmitted via at least one of the plurality of subchannels indicated by the plurality of RTS frames.
