Abstract:
An apparatus and procedure for performing phase detection in which one-pitch cycle of an input signal waveform is cut out on a time axis. The cut-out one pitch cycle is filled with zeroes to form 2N samples (where N is an integer, 2N is equal to or greater than the number of samples of the one-pitch cycle), and the samples are subjected to an orthogonal conversion such as fast Fourier transform, whereby a real and imaginary part are used to calculate tan−1 to obtain a basic phase information. This basic phase is subjected to linear interpolation to obtain phases of respective higher harmonics of the input signal waveform.
Abstract:
Liquid crystal display device and its drive method that applies the voltage of the difference of a scanning signal and a data signal having at least a reset period, a selection period and a non-selection period in one frame on a chiral nematic liquid crystal having at least two stable states. A total of eight voltage levels made up of a plurality of levels (V1, V2, V3, V4) of a first group on the low voltage side and a plurality of levels (V5, V6, V7, V8) of a second group on the high voltage side are provided. The voltage levels of scanning signal Yi and data signal Xj are alternated between the first group and second group every mH (where, m is an integer that is 2 or greater and H≠1 frame period), which is an integral multiple of the unit time (1H) equivalent to the selection period T2 of scanning signal Yi. When the data signal (Xj) is a voltage level of the first group, the voltage level of the reset period (T1) in the scanning signal (Yi) is selected from the second group, and when the data signal (Xj) is a voltage level of the second group, the voltage level of the reset period (T1) in the scanning signal (Yi) is selected from the first group. When the data signal (Xj) is a voltage level of the first group, the voltage levels of the selection period (T3) and non-selection period (T4) in the scanning signal (Yi) are each selected from the same first group, and when the data signal is a voltage level of the second group, the voltage levels of the selection period (T3) and non-selection period (T4) in the scanning signal (Yi) are each selected from the same second group. By this means, the polarity of the voltage applied to the liquid crystal is reversed every mH.
Abstract:
A high frequency power amplifier with reduced power loss and improved power amplification efficiency has an output matching circuit providing an open circuit to a second harmonic and a short circuit to a third harmonic of a high frequency signal. This is accomplished by, for example, adjusting lengths of a drain bias line and a plurality of signal lines so that the phase of S parameter S11 (input reflection coefficient) to the second harmonic is from −80° to 140°, and the phase of S parameter S11 to the third harmonic is from 160° to 220°. The line length of each line in an input matching circuit is also adjusted so that the phase of S parameter S22 (output reflection coefficient) at the fundamental frequency is between +5° to −75°.

A semiconductor manufacturing device comprises a holder having sealing members and supporting a semiconductor substrate so that an open space is formed above the semiconductor substrate and a sealed space is formed below the semiconductor substrate. The semiconductor substrate has a first main surface exposed to the open space and a second main surface exposed to the sealed space. When the holder is immersed in an etching solution, the first main surface of the semiconductor substrate is exposed to the etching solution and subjected to wet etching while the etching solution does not flow into the sealed space.

The present invention provides a method for determining a condition of aging for an optical fiber grating. This method comprises a step of setting the aged deterioration curve of the optical fiber grating as a form proportional to t.sup.-n, where t represents time, and n represents a parameter dependent on temperature; and a step of determining the condition of the aging according to the aged deterioration curve.

Abstract:
An xy scanning unit produces a scanning signal along an x-direction and a scanning signal along a y-direction, which are determined by a contour of a sample to be monitored, scanning time of the x-direction, and a pixel number of the x-direction, supplied from a CPU. Then, the xy scanning unit outputs these scanning signals along the x-direction and the y-direction to a piezoelectric scanning apparatus. On the other hand, a second oscillator outputs a sine wave signal having a frequency determined by the scanning time of the x-direction and the pixel number of the x-direction to a second piezoelectric plate. A sample/hold circuit holds observation data of a probe at such timing after preselected time has passed since the output of the second oscillator becomes maximum, and then outputs the held observation data to a differential amplifier and a P.I control system. An output signal Q of the P.I control system is applied to a z-fine-moving electrode of the piezoelectric scanning apparatus, and also is converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter. This digital signal is stored into a memory in a sampling manner.
Abstract:
A second post filter having characteristics similar to those of a first post filter used in the signal path is prepared and a gain of the first post filter is preliminarily presumed from an input and an output of the second post filter. An optimum scaling value when performing a filtering operation in the first post filter is set by using the gain obtained from the input and output of the second post filter, so that an optimum gain when controlling a gain fluctuation caused by the first post filter is set.
