    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for communicating user data in a small data transfer (SDT) in a non-terrestrial network (NTN) while a user equipment (UE) is in an idle or inactive mode. A method that may be performed the UE includes transmitting, to a non-terrestrial base station (NTBS) in an NTN, an SDT indication message including a first indication that the UE has user data to transmit in an SDT while the UE is in an idle or inactive mode, receiving, from the NTBS in response to the SDT indication message, a resource indication message including an indication of a set of resources for transmitting user data in the SDT, and transmitting the user data in the SDT to the NTBS while the UE is in the idle or inactive mode via the set of resources indicated in the resource indication message.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) that indicates an update to a spatial relation configuration of the UE for physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmissions. The update may apply to a first PUCCH resource and may apply to other PUCCH resources in a group of PUCCH resources to which the first PUCCH resource belongs based at least in part on a bit included in the update or an indication of which PUCCH resources are to be in the group of PUCCH resources. The UE may update the spatial relation configuration of the UE for the first PUCCH resource or for all PUCCH resources in the group of PUCCH resources. The UE may transmit a PUCCH communication on at least the first PUCCH resource. Numerous other aspects are described.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a message indicating a common pool of resources for a random access channel (RACH). The UE may initiate a random access by transmitting, to the base station, a first RACH preamble in a RACH occasion within a subset of the common pool of resources. The subset is selected based at least in part on a use case that triggered the random access. In some aspects, the UE may transmit an initial RACH preamble and/or a RACH pay load in order to activate the subset. As an alternative, the UE may transmit an initial RACH preamble and/or a RACH payload in order to receive an indication of the subset for the use case that triggered the random access.     Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for network coding for handover are disclosed herein. A base station (BS) transmits a first group of encoded packets to a first road side unit (RSU) over a first radio access network (RAN) interface. The BS initiates a handover procedure between the first RSU and a second RSU. The BS receives, from the first RSU, a release acknowledgment associated with the handover procedure and feedback associated with the first group of encoded packets. The BS transmits network coding level information to the second RSU over a second RAN interface based on the feedback. The network coding level information indicates a number of missing encoded packets within the first group of encoded packets for the second RSU to transmit to the UE. The BS transmits, to the UE, a second group of encoded packets associated with the number of missing encoded packets at the second RSU.
