Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications at a user equipment (UE) are described. The UE may receive a synchronization signal block or channel state information reference signal. The UE may transmit a channel state information report including a first indication of channel quality associated with the synchronization signal block or channel state information reference signal. The UE may receive a demodulation reference signal that is quasi co-located with the synchronization signal block or channel state information reference signal and associated with a physical downlink shared channel. The UE may transmit a hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgment message or channel state information report including a second indication of channel quality associated with the demodulation reference signal of the physical downlink shared channel. The second indication of channel quality may include a differential measurement that is relative to the first indication of channel quality.

Abstract: A UE may identify a first set of preserved resources of one or more sets of preserved resources. An aircraft-borne device may identify a first set of preserved resources of one or more sets of preserved resources. The first set of preserved resources may be associated with a time domain starting point, a time domain duration, and a frequency domain resource allocation. The UE may transmit, to an aircraft-borne device and the aircraft-borne device may, receive from the UE, over at least part of the first set of preserved resources, a synchronization signal and a first payload message. The first payload message may include a first emergency message and may be transmitted and received via one of a first PUSCH, a first PSSCH, or a PSCCH. The aircraft-borne device may forward, to a base station or another aircraft-borne device, at least the first emergency message.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for radio frequency (RF) sensing by a base station operating in a time division duplex (TDD) mode and having a first antenna panel and a second antenna panel. The base station performs RF sensing and DL communication in a first sensing and DL communication mode in which the first antenna panel transmits DL symbols and the second antenna panel receives, as RF sensing signals, reflections of the DL symbols transmitted by the first antenna panel. The base station also performs RF sensing and DL communication in a second sensing and DL communication mode in which the second antenna panel transmits DL symbols and the first antenna panel receives, as RF sensing signals, reflections of the DL symbols transmitted by the second antenna panel. In some aspects, a characteristic of the channel is determined based on transmissions in both the first and second sensing and DL communications modes.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a message 1 (msg1) report message, of a four-step random access channel (RACH) procedure, identifying information associated with a plurality of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs), wherein the information includes a plurality of SSB indices associated with the plurality of SSBs. The UE may receive, based at least in part on transmitting the msg1 report message, a message 2 (msg2) update message, of the four-step RACH procedure, with an indication of a downlink beam associated with an SSB index of the plurality of SSB indices. The UE may transmit a response message, based at least in part on receiving the msg2 update message, indicating a confirmation of the SSB index indicated in the msg2 update message or indicating a reversion to a different SSB index.
