Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a communication device may classify a set of packets of streaming video content based at least in part on one or more video characteristics; assign the set of packets to a plurality of transport blocks based at least in part on classifying the set of packets, wherein a first transport block is associated with a first set of values for a set of communication parameters and a second transport block is associated with a second set of values for the set of communication parameters, and wherein the set of communication parameters is associated with a layer mapping technique; and provide the plurality of transport blocks for transmission based at least in part on assigning the set of packets to the plurality of transport blocks. Abstract: A first wireless device may receive, from a second wireless device, a transmission associated with an MLC scheme. The MLC scheme may include a plurality of bits with at least one first bit corresponding to a first level of the plurality of bits and at least one second bit corresponding to a second level of the plurality of bits. The at least one first bit may be coded with a first level of complexity, but the at least one second bit may be coded with either the first level of complexity or a second level of complexity, where the first level of complexity may be a higher level of complexity than the second level of complexity. The first wireless device may decode the at least one first bit and the at least one second bit using a decoder having a corresponding level of complexity.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may select a scrambling sequence to use per symbol to reduce variance in a non-linearity parameter for a power amplifier (PA) output between a data symbol and a pilot symbol based on a PA model for at least one pilot symbol or one or more parameters of the model. The receiving device may indicate a capability to blindly estimate the scrambling sequence the transmitting device selected to the transmitting device. If the transmitting device does not receive the capability message from the receiving device or if the capability message indicates the receiving device is not capable of blind estimation, the transmitting device may indicate the selected scrambling sequence to the receiving device. Otherwise, the transmitting device may not indicate the selected scrambling sequence to the receiving device, and the receiving device may blindly estimate the scrambling sequence.

Abstract: Techniques for wireless communications are described. A demodulation reference signal generated using user information and a noncoherent modulation technique may be communicated between wireless devices. A data sequence may be extracted from the demodulation reference signal based on demodulating the demodulation reference signal using the noncoherent modulation technique and decoding the demodulation reference signal. The data sequence may be used to reconstruct a version of the demodulation reference signal used to descramble a received version of the demodulation reference signal. The descrambled demodulation reference signal may be used to estimate a data channel between a transmitting device and a receiving device.

Abstract: Wireless communication techniques for supporting, selecting, and using multiple waveforms and/or multiple decoders for downlink wireless communication are discussed. A UE may transmit to a base station an indication of one or more downlink waveforms or decoders supported by the UE. The UE may also transmit to the base station an indication of power consumption associated with at least one of the one or more downlink waveforms or decoders. The UE may receive from the base station an indication of a waveform or decoder, based on the indication of power consumption, to use for downlink wireless communication.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for latency minimization in wireless communications employing multi-level coding and multi-level sequential demodulation and decoding are described. A user equipment (UE) receive a set of codeblock groups in a first time period. Each codeblock group jointly sharing same channel resources may be associated with a respective decoding level of a set of decoding levels. The UE may determine a first outcome for a first codeblock group and a second outcome for a second codeblock group. The UE may then transmit a feedback message that is based on the first outcome and the second outcome. In case that the feedback message indicates that the first outcome or the second outcome is a failed decoding procedure, the UE may receive, in a second time period, a retransmission of all the codeblock groups. These retransmissions may continue on additional time periods until all related codeblock groups are successfully decoded.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method may include an interference estimation procedure that measures interference from radio access technologies (RATs) different from cellular vehicle to everything (CV2X) on the CV2X network at a user equipment (UE). A UE may record measurements of interference on the CV2X network when no CV2X signal is present during the last symbol of a subframe. Then, the UE may estimate the noise plus interference measured during the empty symbol to improve noise plus interference whitening when decoding a subframe.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described to switch between waveform configurations based on an indicated modulation coding scheme (MCS) such that waveform switching may be signaled implicitly. A base station may configure a user equipment (UE) with a hybrid MCS table including MCS indexes associated with a first waveform configuration and MCS indexes associated with a second waveform configuration. The base station may schedule resources for an uplink transmission for the UE and may indicate an MCS index associated with the uplink transmission, using index from the MCS table. The UE may select a waveform configuration for the uplink transmission based on the MCS index. For example, the UE may compare the MCS index with a threshold MCS index of the hybrid MCS table and determine a waveform configuration associated with the MCS index based on whether the MCS index falls above or below the threshold.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for estimating one or more environmental factors at a first user equipment (UE). The one or more environmental factors may be based on estimates of a Doppler spread and a power delay profile (PDP) taken over a set of subsets of a time period, based on multiple signals received from a second UE or a base station over the time period. The first UE may estimate the Doppler spread and PDP for a channel over each of the set of subsets of the time period, and may combine the Doppler spread over the set of subsets and combine the PDP over the set of subsets. The first UE may use the combined Doppler spread and the combined PDP to determine one or more communication parameters for the channel.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit repetitions of a tracking reference signal to a user equipment (UE). The UE may determine a Doppler frequency for the downlink channel by measuring the repetitions of the tracking reference signal. The UE may transmit an indication of the downlink Doppler frequency to the base station. The base station may determine the uplink Doppler frequency based on the downlink Doppler frequency. The base station may use the uplink Doppler frequency to select an uplink demodulation reference signal (DMRS) configuration for the UE.
