Abstract: A communication technique and system for converging, with Internet of things (IoT) technology, a 5th generation (5G) communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate beyond a 4th generation (4G) system is provided. The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services (for example, smart homes, smart buildings, smart cities, smart cars or connected cards, health care, digital education, retail business, security and safety related services, etc.), on the basis of the 5G communication technology and IoT associated technology. According to an embodiment, a method of a terminal in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes receiving system information, identifying power information for a synchronization signal and a broadcast channel, based on the system information, and transmitting and receiving a signal, based on the power information. In this method, the power information for the synchronization signal and the broadcast channel are set equally.

Abstract: The present invention defines a method for controlling uplink transmission power of a terminal in a communication system which is operated by combining heterogeneous systems. Specifically, the present invention defines a method for selectively applying a power control command in order to control uplink power of a terminal in a communication system which is operated by combining an LTE/LTE-A system with a system which applies a new radio access technology, and a method for differently operating power control units depending on whether beam sweeping is applied or not. Such methods efficiently control transmission power of a terminal, and lower the generation of uplink interference signals, thereby improving system efficiency.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of transmitting/receiving a signal by a transmission device in a mobile communication system. The method includes: receiving information related to synchronization signals from a Base Station (BS); transmitting a first synchronization signal based on the received information; and receiving a second synchronization signal corresponding to the first synchronization signal based on the received information. When a UE cannot receive a synchronization signal from the BS or is located beyond a coverage of the BS, or when the BS cannot operate due to an emergency or disaster situation, UEs can configure self synchronization therebetween in a predetermined area without any assistance from the BS and thus broadcast and unicast transmission are possible between the UEs based on the synchronization.

Abstract: A discovery signal transmission/reception method and an apparatus for improving energy efficiency of the system are provided. The discovery signal transmission method of a base station in a mobile communication system according to the present disclosure includes acquiring a discovery signal configuration of a neighbor cell, transmitting the discovery signal configuration to a terminal, receiving a measurement report including a result of measurement on a discovery signal of the neighbor from the terminal, the measurement being performed based on the discovery signal configuration, and determining whether to make a handover decision for the terminal based on the measurement report. The discovery signal transmission/reception method of the present disclosure is advantageous in improving energy efficiency of a mobile communication system.

The method includes determining a service attribute for identifying whether the terminal is serviced by at least one base station; and generating a D2DSS for identifying whether the terminal is serviced by the base station, based on the determination result. In addition, provided is a method of configuring D2D synchronization by a terminal according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The method includes receiving a signal from at least one base station or another device; determining whether a synchronization signal is detected from the received signal; and when the synchronization signal is detected, configuring synchronization with the another device based on the timing reference of the detected synchronization signal.

Abstract: Provided is a method of sending and receiving signals for a user equipment (UE) in a mobile communication system. The method may include: receiving discovery signal configuration information; scanning a discovery signal resource region determined based on the discovery signal configuration information; transmitting a discovery signal at a resource of the discovery signal resource region selected based on the scanning result; and rescanning the discovery signal resource region on the basis of at least one of the discovery signal configuration information and the scanning result. There are provided a method and apparatus for sending and receiving a discovery signal for D2D communication in a wireless communication system. A UE is allocated discovery signal transmission resources via signaling from the ENB and periodically rescans the discovery signal transmission resources. Thereby, it is possible to send and receive discovery signals in a more efficient manner.
