In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive signaling that schedules a shared channel and indicates a set of demodulation reference signal (DMRS) ports scheduled for the UE, the signaling including a field for conveying an indicator of a co-scheduled UE for the set of DMRS ports.     Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for configuring a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) for wireless communication. A method that may be performed by a base station (BS) includes transmitting one or more parameters corresponding to a time period for the RIS to adapt to user equipment (UE) configuration information, the UE configuration information for configuring the RIS for RIS-assisted communication between the BS and a UE, the one or more parameters comprising a number of symbols indicative of a duration of time. The method also includes transmitting, via the RIS and separately from transmitting the one or more parameters, a control channel to the UE scheduling communication of a data channel with the UE via the RIS. The method also includes communicating, via the RIS, the data channel with the UE the duration of time after transmitting the control channel to the UE.

A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station via a reconfigurable surface, a set of reference signals reflected by the reconfigurable surface using a set of precoder configurations. In some aspects, the set of reference signals are transmitted within a set of reference signal occasions of a sweep procedure associated with configuring the reconfigurable surface with different precoder configurations of the set of precoder configurations for reflecting signals. The UE may additionally transmit, to the base station via the reconfigurable surface, a feedback message including an indication of at least one precoder configuration of the set of precoder configurations based on receiving the set of reference signals.     Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques, methods, devices, systems, and non-transitory computer readable medium for generating codebooks for reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) s. For example, a RIS controller generates a codebook for a RIS by computing weights using a discrete Fourier transform (DFT) function or a fractional Fourier transform (FrFT) function, based on reference signals (RSs) transmitted by a transmitter. The weights correspond to the RIS elements or a subset of the RIS elements. In some aspects, the computation of the weights may include oversampling factors that allow for a higher resolution of the weights and improved search for an optimal precoding setting. Different sets of weights may be used for different incoming beams. The RIS controller may be trained with a pair of transmitter and a receiver to identify/generate the codebook for an optimized set of weights under specific situations.

A first user equipment (UE) may transmit a trigger message to a second UE, where the trigger message triggers a channel state information (CSI) report that includes a first CSI reporting mode of a set of CSI reporting modes and a reporting quantity for the first CSI reporting mode. For a first reporting quantity, the first UE may trigger the second UE to transmit a CSI reference signal (RS), and the first UE may then receive the CSI-RS to determine CSI based on the CSI-RS. Additionally or alternatively, for other reporting quantities, the first UE may transmit the CSI-RS to the second UE, and the second UE may transmit channel state feedback to the first UE based on measuring CSI for the received CSI-RS, where the first UE determines the CSI based on the channel state feedback.
