Abstract: Systems and methods for creating and delivering an interactive display of thumbnail windows of visual content of different video game sessions are presented. In one embodiment, a method provides for sending, by a server of hosting service, an interactive interface for display on display of a client device. The interactive interface has an array of thumbnail windows and each thumbnail window depicts visual content of different video game sessions being played. Responsive to a selection of a thumbnail window by a user of the client device, the method provides for sending a video stream associated with the selected thumbnail window from the array of thumbnail windows. The video stream enables the user of the client device to view interactive game play of a video game associated with the video stream.

Abstract: A system and method are described below for encoding interactive video used in video games streamed from a server to a client. For example, one embodiment of a computer-implemented method for performing video compression, and detecting a maximum data rate of a communication channel between a server and a client. The method includes transmitting a video stream comprising a series of compressed frames from the server to the client. The method includes detecting that the maximum data rate will be exceeded if a particular frame or frames of the sequence of frames are transmitted from the server to the client over the communication channel. The method includes reducing the frame rate of the video stream by adjusting compression of the video frames being sent from the server to the client to avoid exceeding the maximum data rate.

The system can in response to determining permission has been granted to access the first data feed: determine to capture first data from the first data feed in response to a second virtual universe object performing the first trigger event; determine to create a first data feed file comprising the first data and first information related to the second virtual universe object; and determine to transmit the first data feed file to a user device associated with the first virtual universe object.

Abstract: A personal entertainment respiratory apparatus provides air to a user to provide a fully immersive entertainment experience. The personal entertainment system may comprise a flow generator for providing the flow of air. A personal spatial respiratory interface may be coupled to the flow generator. The personal spatial respiratory interface may comprise an outlet for the flow generator. The personal spatial respiratory interface may further be configured to direct the flow of air within an ambient breathing proximity of a user. The personal entertainment respiratory apparatus may further comprise a controller and a sensory particle dispenser. The controller and sensory particle dispenser may be configured to selectively activate release of a sensory particle from the dispenser into the directed flow of air in response to an entertainment triggering signal.

Abstract: At a server, a load monitoring unit monitors whether or not a predetermined condition regarding processing of requests is satisfied. In the case where the predetermined condition is not satisfied, a wait-time calculating unit calculates a wait time as a time parameter for controlling the speed of time flow at a player terminal side. A request executing unit executes requests in the order of arrival and generates responses. A response sending control unit executes control to send responses to the player terminals that have sent the corresponding requests and to also send to the player terminals information representing the wait time in the case where the wait time has been calculated.

Abstract: A method of and system for handling latency issues encountered in producing real-time entertainment such as games of skill synchronized with live or taped televised events is described herein. There are multiple situations that are dealt with regarding latencies in receiving a television signal with respect to real-time entertainment based on the unfolding games played along with the telecasts. Systemic delays, arbitrarily imposed delays of a broadcast signal and variances in the precise broadcast times of taped television programs have to be equalized so as to provide fair entertainment.

Abstract: A method is provided for controlling game character movement for a server. The method includes receiving a movement-request data-packet sent by a first client, where the server is configured to manage a character movement on the first client and a character movement on a second client in a same game scene. The method also includes determining whether a target client is the first client or the second client according to the movement-request data-packet, where a character on the target client is a character whose movement needs to be controlled by the first client.
