    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve a system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program and a method for providing an in-game status bar. A gaming application is launched from a messaging application. A state in the messaging application from which the gaming application was launched is determined. A communication interface that is associated with the messaging application is generated for display, concurrently with a display of the gaming application. Functionality of the communication interface is modified based on the state in the messaging application from which the gaming application was launched.

    Abstract: In a display control process, a virtual space where virtual characters associated with users are movably placed, is displayed, and a control process executes a process based on a request from the users, according to the virtual space where virtual characters of the users are placed, wherein the virtual space includes a first virtual space and a second virtual space. A match-making process is executed for the users whose virtual characters associated therewith are placed in the first virtual space. In the control process, a process for match-making at least one of the users with an opponent is executed, on condition that the virtual character of the at least one of users is placed in the first virtual space, and a process for play preparation of the game is executed on condition that the virtual character of the at least one of the users is in the second virtual space. The game is a battle game which progresses through acquisition of information of a real space. The play preparation process includes a process for preparing a device, which acquires the information of the real space.

    Abstract: A method and system for conducting multiple competitions of skill for a single performance are described herein. User generated competition groups and system generated competition groups allow users to participate in multiple competitions at once based on answering the same questions or making the same selections related to a single event. The users are informed of each competition either via email, text message or when logging into the network via a website. The users select which competitions groups to join. After joining the desired groups, users then make their selections related to the event which are transmitted to the network where results are tabulated and transmitted back to the users. The results are separated based on each competition group, so that users can continually know where they stand in each separate competition. With multiple competition groups, users are able to have varying success from the same performance in multiple competitions.

    Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for processing gameplay invitations are provided. The method includes receiving a request from a first player to share gameplay of a game during a session of gameplay with a recipient. The method includes generating, responsive to the request, a share link for sending to the recipient. The share link includes embedded metadata that identifies an application identifier for the game and a session identifier for the session of gameplay by the first player. The share link forwards the recipient to a web user interface (UI) that enables input of a selection of a platform system from which the recipient is to join the session. The input at the web UI redirects to a trigger link that starts a launch invocation of the platform system and passes the game identifier and the session identifier to the platform system to initiate gameplay of the recipient in the session of gameplay of the first player.

    Abstract: Skill measurement systems and methods include interaction pairs and an interaction uncertainty. The interaction pairs are pairwise matches corresponding to instances of interactions between players. The interaction uncertainty variable corresponds to the instance of interaction and is based in part on the uncertainties of a player, player team, and/or gameplay aspects. The interaction pairs and interaction uncertainty are used to more accurately determine a skill rating of a player based in part on interaction data among gameplay data from a gameplay session of a video game.

    Abstract: An information-processing system includes a game-processing system and portable information-processing terminals. The game-processing system determines a first image that includes connection destination information used for participation in a participatory game, and that is to be displayed on a first display device. The game-processing system also, after one of the portable information-processing terminals connects to the game-processing system, allows a user of the one of the portable information-processing terminals to participate in the participatory game.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for coordinating multiplayer game sessions are provided. In some embodiments, the method comprises: determining that a first user associated with a first user device is viewing game content created by a second user associated with a second user device; in response to determining that the first user is viewing the game content created by the second user, determining whether the first user satisfies criteria for joining a multiplayer game session with the second user; in response to determining that the first user satisfies criteria for joining the multiplayer game session with the second user, causing a selectable input element to join a queue of players to participate in the multiplayer game session with the second user to be presented on the first user device; in response to determining that the selectable input element to join the queue of players has been selected on the first user device, adding the first user to a position of the queue of players; in response to determining that the first user can participate in the multiplayer games session based on the position within the queue of players, causing an invitation to join the multiplayer game session to be presented on the first user device; in response to determining that the invitation to join the multiplayer game session has been accepted on the first user device, causing the first user to be added to the multiplayer game session; causing the multiplayer game session to begin on the first user device, wherein the multiplayer game session includes at least the first user and the second user; and in response to determining that the multiplayer game session has ended, removing the first user from the multiplayer game session.
