摘要: A system for providing integrated guidance for positioning a biopsy device and estimating tumor size in a body has two levels of guidance: a coarse guidance and a fine guidance. The system includes a non-invasive imaging system for obtaining an image of the biopsy device in the body, for providing the coarse guidance. Furthermore, the system includes an optical element mounted on the needle for obtaining optical information discriminating tissue in the body, for providing the fine guidance.

摘要: This application relates to methods for delivering radiation to a positron-emitting target within a subject under continuous PET guidance. Instead of directing radiation at a collinear path along each detected positron line-of-response (LOR), the methods generally include detecting a pattern of LORs that intersect the target. In response to the pattern, radiation may be delivered along paths that are not necessarily collinear to any of the LORs. Methods for further modifying radiation delivery as well as the detected LOR population are also described.

摘要: Devices and methods for making a polymer with a porous layer from a solid piece of polymer are disclosed. In various embodiments, the method includes heating a surface of a solid piece of polymer to a processing temperature and holding the processing temperature while displacing a porogen layer through the surface of the polymer to create a matrix layer of the solid polymer body comprising the polymer and the porogen layer. In at least one embodiment, the method also includes removing at least a portion of the layer of porogen from the matrix layer to create a porous layer of the solid piece of polymer.

摘要: A method includes receiving during a first time interval associated with a path of motion of a dynamic body, image data associated with a plurality of images of the dynamic body. The plurality of images include an indication of a position of a first marker coupled to a garment at a first location, and a position of a second marker coupled to the garment at a second location. The garment is coupled to the dynamic body. During a second time interval, an image from the plurality of images is automatically identified that includes a position of the first marker that is substantially the same as a position of a first localization element relative to the dynamic body and a position of the second marker that is substantially the same as a position of the second localization element relative to the dynamic body.

摘要: A system and method that acquire (i) at least a reference image including one of a preoperative image of a surgical site with skeletal and articulating bones and a contralateral image on an opposite side of the patient from the surgical site, and (ii) at least an intraoperative image of the site after an implant has been affixed to the articulating bone. The system preferably generates at least one reference stationary point on at least the skeletal bone in the reference image and at least one intraoperative stationary point on at least the skeletal bone in the intraoperative image. The location of the implant is identified in the intraoperative image, preferably including the position of first and second centers of rotation, which are digitally represented and copied into the reference image to analyze at least one of offset and length differential.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method of treating a hip joint of a human patient, the hip joint comprising an acetabulum, the acetabulum being a part of the pelvic bone, and a caput femur, the caput femur being the proximal part of the femoral bone, said method comprising the steps of: cutting the skin of the human patient, dissecting an area of the pelvic bone on the opposite side from the acetabulum, creating a hole in said dissected area, said hole passing through the pelvic bone and into the hip joint of the human patient, and performing an action in the hip joint, through said hole in the pelvic bone.

摘要: The present invention is disclosing several methods related to intra-body navigation of radiopaque instrument through natural body cavities. One of the methods is disclosing the pose estimation of the imaging device using multiple images of radiopaque instrument acquired in the different poses of imaging device and previously acquired imaging. The other method allows to resolve the radiopaque instrument localization ambiguity using several approaches, such as radiopaque markers and instrument trajectory tracking.

摘要: A computed tomography machine suitable for interventional procedures provides partial scans displaced about the patient away from the physician position to substantially reduce Compton scattering received by the physician. A modeling of patient dose accounting for the presence of shielding, different physician characteristics, patient positions, and probe position may be accomplished to affect a trade-off between these various factors optimized for interventional or similar procedures where a nonpatient must be close to the scanner during operation.
