    摘要: A method for restoring traffic in a network. The network includes plural distinct nodes interconnected by plural distinct spans, each span having working links and spare links. Each node has a digital cross-connect switch for making and breaking connections between adjacent spans forming span pairs at a node. Cross-connections between spare links in adjacent spans are made such that sets of successive nodes through which the adjacent spans form span paths form closed paths. A method of finding and construction closed paths is described in which statelets are broadcast through the network. In a preferred method of implementation of the method, the statelet broadcast occurs not in response to a network failure, but across the entire network before any particular span failure and may be carried out during normal network operations as a continual re-configuration of the network.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for enabling a network-based solution for enterprise customers that is integrated with premise-based equipment is disclosed. The premise-based solution can be quickly enabled in the event that the primary network, e.g., VoIP network, connectivity is lost. The premise-based equipment, e.g. a VoIP switch, can be minimally configured and equipped to play the role of a hot standby proxy for network based VoIP services if connection to the primary VoIP network is lost. Intelligent services typically accessed in network based VoIP services can be enabled on the premise equipment and VoIP gateways to an alternate network, e.g., a WAN or a PSTN, can be activated. Network operators can remotely activate this equipment on behalf of the enterprise customer until the primary network connection is restored.

    摘要: There is provided a system and method of disaster restoration of service of damaged or destroyed telecommunication network elements. A controller component is configured to select a damaged or destroyed network element after a disaster event. An engine component is configured to establish connectivity to an alternative network element and to transmit the service continuity data associated with the damaged or destroyed network element from a computer readable storage. The engine component is configured to execute one or more computer commands to the alternative network element so as to operate it with the service continuity data of damaged or destroyed network element. A restoration service package is transmitted to a replacement network element and instructed to use that service package to re-acquire the original network element's identity and provisioning information in order to restore the traffic that originally existed on the damaged or destroyed network element.

In accordance with such a method, an operation for monitoring a failure prediction parameter of at least one of the plurality of protected system elements is performed.
