Abstract: A mobile device auxiliary battery is disclosed. The mobile device auxiliary battery can supply electric current to the mobile device. A processing device associated with the auxiliary battery may be wirelessly connected to the mobile device, such as with a Bluetooth interface, and thereby control operational aspects of the battery, including for example control over supplying power to the mobile device. The auxiliary battery may be part of a charging system or kit that includes a uniquely designed separate charger or part of a protective case. In yet another aspect, the protective case may include unitary bumper flexible bumper co-molded to the body of the case and a male connector extending from a nested portion that is adapted to tilt outward from the case to facilitate insertion of the corresponding female port on the mobile device into the connector and into the case. The protective case may also include a stand in the form of dock or cradle to allow positioning and/or charging of the battery case and mobile device via external contact terminals correspondingly positioned on the outside of the case and in the cavity of the cradle.

Abstract: A vehicle charger includes a power supply device, a communication module, a reference changing unit, a compensator, a controller, and a gate driver. The power supply device changes an input voltage into a voltage required to charge a portable device and outputs the changed voltage. The communication module receives information on at least one of a voltage and a current, which are required to charge the portable device. The reference changing unit generates at least one of a reference voltage and a reference current based on the information on the at least one of the voltage and the current. The compensator generates a compensation signal based on a result obtained by comparing the at least one of the reference voltage and the reference current with at least one of a sensed voltage and a sensed current, which are obtained by sensing at least one of an output voltage of the power supply device and a current supplied from the power supply device to the portable device. The controller generates a gate driving signal according to the compensation signal. The gate driver generates a gate voltage for controlling switching operation of the power supply device according to the gate driving signal.

Abstract: A power management system can smartly allocate the available power at a location to support more electric vehicles than would otherwise be possible. Power managers can intelligently allocate that power based on the real-time needs of vehicles. A smart energy distribution system can estimate each vehicle's current charge level and use such information to efficiently provide electric vehicle charging. The system can respond dynamically to vehicle charge levels, current readings, and/or electrical mains readings, allocating more current where it is needed. The charger profiles can include historic charge cycle information, which can be analyzed under a set of heuristics to predict future charging needs. A local electric vehicle charging mesh network can be provided, which transmits data packets among short-range transceivers of multiple power managers. The local electric vehicle charging mesh network can be connected to a remote server via a cellular connection. The power managers and the local electric vehicle charging mesh network can intelligently allocate power to multiple electric vehicles.

Abstract: A wirelessly chargeable device, such as a smartphone, and a wireless-charging device are provided. The wirelessly chargeable device and the wireless-charging device comprise holding means for generating an attractive force between the wirelessly chargeable device and a charging surface of the wireless-charging device, so as to prevent displacement of the wirelessly chargeable device when placed on the charging surface, and processing means operative to release the wirelessly chargeable device from the charging surface in response to determining that a user intends to remove the wirelessly chargeable device from the charging surface. Advantageously, the wirelessly chargeable device may to be placed on a charging surface which is substantially vertical when in operation, effectively eliminating the need for manually securing the wirelessly chargeable device in order to prevent the wirelessly chargeable device from falling.

Abstract: A method of charging an electric vehicle at a charging station includes electrically connecting the charging station to the vehicle. The charging station may be configured to charge the vehicle using a charging station charge protocol and the vehicle may be configured to receive the charge using a vehicle charge protocol. The vehicle receives a signal indicative of the charging station charge protocol and selects the vehicle charge protocol based on this signal. The vehicle is then charged using the selected vehicle charge protocol. While selecting, the vehicle may select one charge protocol from multiple charge protocols supported by the vehicle to match the charging station charge protocol.
