    摘要: A security device for use on identification cards, monetary documents, and the like using a reference pattern and a message pattern each having the appearance of a random pattern of dots. The reference pattern is a dense pattern of randomly positioned dots, and the message pattern is a modulated version of the reference pattern in which the dots of the reference pattern are slightly repositioned by an amount depending on the grey value or color value of a message image at each dot location. The message image is decrypted and becomes visible with a range of grey values when it is viewed through a film transparency of the reference pattern. The dot pattern may be printed, embossed or recorded as a photograph or a hologram. Decryption of the message image may be accomplished by viewing through a contact mask, superposition of images of the message pattern and reference pattern, by viewing the message pattern through a mask positioned at a real image of the reference pattern, or like means.

    摘要: An apparatus for displaying a three-dimensional image of a plurality of tomographic images by storing pictorial information of a tomographic image in an image convering element, forming interference fringes between a reading light beam which is transmitted through the image converting element and is modulated in accordance with the pictorial information stored therein and a reference light beam, and recording the interference fringes on a photographic plate. A three-dimensional image is reproduced by projecting the reference light beam onto the thus developed photographic plate. The image converting element is formed by a Pockels readout optical modulator. An intensity and position of a coherent light beam is modulated in accordance with the pictorial information of the tomographic image, and the thus modulated coherent reading light beam is made incident upon the Pockels readout optical modulator.

    摘要: In a method of taking and reproducing photographs in which a hologram in the substrate of the photograph is superposed on the photograph and is produced, e.g., by the Lippmann-Bragg process by an object beam and a reference beam from the same light source, the object beam containing amplitude information corresponding to the photograph in such a manner that a corresponding image is formed at the same time on the substrate which corresponds to the hologram plane, and the aperture stop of image-forming optical system contains the object to be represented by the hologram. An optical phase modulator for producing a predetermined set of phase disturbances is provided between the aperture stop and the hologram plane.

    摘要: Provided is a holographic data storage system characterized by including: a first polarizing beam splitter (PBS), wherein at least either of a first lens module and a second lens module transmits P-polarized light and reflects S-polarized light; a relay lens collecting light passing through the first PBS; a mirror reflecting the light collected through the relay lens back to the relay lens; and a quarter wave plate located between a second PBS beam splitter and the relay lens, converting transmitted linearly polarized light into circularly polarized light, and converting the circularly polarized light into linearly polarized light. By reducing the volume of the relay lens, it is possible to decrease the size of the holographic data storage system, and by decreasing the number of lenses, it is possible to lower manufacturing costs.

    摘要: We describe a touch sensitive image display device for projecting a touch sensitive displayed image at an acute angle onto a surface on which the device is placed. The device comprises: light sources to project two-dimensional first and second light distributions in respective first and second planes; and a multi-pixel sensor system to remotely detect touch of an area of said surface within or adjacent to the displayed image by detecting light from the first distribution to provide a detected touch signal. The multi-pixel sensor system also remotely detects presence of an object within the second light distribution to provide a detected presence signal. The device is configured to multiplex projection of the first light and second distributions. A controller has an input to receive the detected touch and detected presence signals and is configured to control the device responsive to these signals.
