    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a capability message indicating a capability to support a set of frequency bands for wireless communications with an antenna panel. Based on the capability, the UE may receive a first control message from a network entity indicating a portion of the set of frequency bands to use for further wireless communications based on the network entity determining an interference between a set of UEs including the UE and the UE satisfying a threshold interference value. The set of frequency bands may relate to a beamforming scan range. As such, the UE may transmit further wireless communications via a frequency band of the portion of the set of frequency bands based on the first control message and the beamforming scan range.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device may dynamically select subsets of antenna elements within an array based on power consumption and link performance and/or a configuration of components at the wireless device. For example, a wireless device may identify an antenna array having multiple antenna elements, and the wireless device may select respective subsets of antenna elements (e.g., subarrays) for uplink and downlink transmissions. In such cases, the selection may be based on a tradeoff of power consumption at the device and link performance. Additionally or alternatively, the selection may be based on a configuration and/or constraints on a number of radio frequency (RF) components of the wireless device. The wireless device may communicate based on the dynamic selection of different subsets of antenna elements of an array for uplink and downlink communications.

A user equipment (UE) may be configured to report feedback to a base station to address polarization impairments in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications. The UE and the base station may establish a communications link using a pair of orthogonally polarized beams, where the pair of polarized beams may be selected based on a beam sweep procedure. The UE may transmit a report to the base station indicating one or more polarization parameters associated with beam pairs identified in the beam sweep procedure, such as one or more orthogonality parameters, one or more polarization parameters relating to one or more beam pairs, or one or more angular spread parameters.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit to a base station a request for resources including an indication of a transmission beam for performing a sidelink communication in a millimeter wave (mmW) system. The base station may determine a transmission configuration based on the request for resources. The UE may transmit reference signals based on the transmission configuration, and the base station may monitor for the reference signals using one or more reception beams. The base station may determine timing information for the sidelink communication, and transmit the timing information to the UE in a resource grant. Based on the timing information, the UE may perform the sidelink communication using the transmission beam. In some examples, the sidelink communication may be multiplexed in frequency from the perspective of the base station with an uplink transmission from another UE.
