Abstract:
An audio signal measurement method for a speaker and an electronic apparatus having the speaker are provided. The electronic apparatus further has a processing circuit and a power amplifier. The processing circuit is coupled to the speaker and configured to execute a time domain to frequency domain transform according to a voltage value of an audio signal and a current value of current feedback from the speaker so as to obtain a frequency response curve. The power amplifier is coupled to the speaker and configured to drive the speaker according the voltage value of the audio signal. The processing circuit is capable of determining whether the frequency response curve is located within a predetermined area such that the processing circuit generates a signal when the frequency response curve is located out of the predetermined area. Thereby, the electronic apparatus may measure its transducer distortion and acoustic box leakage.

Various embodiments of the present invention are related to methods and apparatuses for decoding data, and more particularly to methods and apparatuses for decoding data in a mixed domain FFT-based non-binary LDPC decoder. For example, in one embodiment an apparatus includes a message processing circuit operable to process variable node messages and check node messages in a log domain, and a check node calculation circuit in the low density parity check decoder operable to perform a Fast Fourier Transform-based check node calculation in a real domain. The message processing circuit and the check node calculation circuit perform iterative layer decoding.
Abstract:
Various embodiments of the present invention are related to methods and apparatuses for decoding data, and more particularly to methods and apparatuses for decoding variably sized blocks of data in an LDPC decoder. For example, in one embodiment an apparatus includes a low density parity check decoder operable to perform decoding of a plurality of circulant sub-matrices from an H matrix, and a controller connected to the low density parity check decoder, operable to omit any of the plurality of circulant sub-matrices from the decoding if they do not contain user data.

For example, in one embodiment an apparatus includes a horizontal updater in a low density parity check decoder operable to iteratively perform row processing to update probabilities of multi-level symbol values, a vertical updater in the low density parity check decoder operable to iteratively perform column processing to update the probabilities of the multi-level symbol values, and a check sum calculation circuit operable to calculate total soft values for the multi-level symbol values.
Abstract:
An adaptive and scalable packet error correction apparatus and method in a wireless multicast network is provided. Each retransmission request from a receiver contains a round number and the number of repairs sent in that round. At each receiver, there are two counters for counting the rounds sent out on the network and the number of repairs that have been required. A receiver on the wireless multicast network listens to the ARQ requests sent by other receivers to update the two counters and determines whether its request should be suppressed or be sent out.
Abstract:
Various embodiments of the present invention are related to methods and apparatuses for decoding data, and more particularly to methods and apparatuses for multi-level layered LDPC decoding. For example, in one embodiment an apparatus includes a variable node processor and a check node processor. The variable node processor is operable to generate variable node to check node messages and to calculate perceived values based on check node to variable node messages. The check node processor is operable to generate the check node to variable node messages and to calculate checksums based on variable node to check node messages. The check node processor includes a min finder circuit operable to identify a minimum, a next minimum and an index of minimum value in the variable node to check node messages. The variable node processor and check node processor are operable to perform layered multi-level decoding.
Abstract:
Computer-implemented systems and methods are provided for assessing non-native spontaneous speech pronunciation. Speech recognition on digitized speech is performed using a non-native acoustic model trained with non-native speech to generate word hypotheses for the digitized speech. Time alignment is performed between the digitized speech and the word hypotheses using a reference acoustic model trained with native-quality speech. Statistics are calculated regarding individual words and phonemes in the word hypotheses based on the alignment. A plurality of features for use in assessing pronunciation of the speech are calculated based on the statistics, an assessment score is calculated based on one or more of the calculated features, and the assessment score is stored in a computer-readable memory.
Abstract:
An electrochemical device includes a ceramic electrode, a metallic interconnect, and a ceramic bond material that bonds the ceramic electrode and the metallic interconnect together. The ceramic material includes manganese-cobalt-oxide that is electrically conductive such that electric current can flow between the ceramic electrode and the metallic interconnect.
Abstract:
Provided are a method, system, computer storage device, and storage area network for maintaining a communication path from a host to a storage subsystem in a network. A storage subsystem controls data transfer and access to a storage devices in a network including a switch and a host. A topological storage stores topological coupling relationship between the host and the switch and a topological coupling relationship between the switch and the storage subsystem. In response to determining a failed path, the storage subsystem determines a first port on the storage subsystem in the failed path. The storage subsystem determines from the topology storage the topological coupling relationships between the host and the switch and the switch and the storage subsystem. The storage subsystem redirects, based on the topological coupling relationships, a message sent to the first port of the storage subsystem to an operational second port in the storage subsystem.
