摘要: With N-bit mask bit data, a bit mask generator generates (L.times.M.times.N)-bit mask data in which the N-bit mask bit data is disposed in one of L.times.M consistent blocks which is specified by M-bit block selection data and L-bit super-block selection data and each bit of the other blocks are stuffed with a stuffing bit. The bit mask generator comprises a first mask generator responsive to the block selection data for generating first mask data by disposing the N-bit mask bit data in one of M blocks of N bits which is specified by one of the M-bit block selection data, and a second mask generator responsive to the super-block selection data for generating the final mask data by disposing the first mask data in one of L super-blocks of M blocks which is specified by one of the L-bit super-block selection data. A bit field operation is performed by using the generated mask data.

摘要: A method for polishing a slight region of the surface of a workpiece utilizes an actuator or actuators having piezoelectric elements. The actuators cause slight movement of a polishing portion disposed at the leading end of a polishing tool in an XY-direction parallel with the surface of the workpiece and/or a Z-direction perpendicular to the surface of the workpiece. A polishing material, including a magnetic fluid and nonmagnetic abrasive grains dispersed in the magnetic fluid, is held magnetically in a space between the polishing portion and the workpiece.

摘要: A control lever of a column-mounted control device for an automatic transmission is installed on a steering column in such a way as to be rotatable in the circumferential direction of the steering column for selection of gears. A location mechanism is operative to releasably limit rotation of the control lever in the circumferential direction of the steering column and locates the control lever in one of gear positions including a stoppage gear. The control lever is released from the above described limitation in rotation in the circumferential direction of the steering column when pulled toward a driver's seat. A location sensor is operative to detect that the above described limitation in rotation of the control lever is performed in the stoppage gear by the location mechanism and produce a stoppage signal representative thereof. A brake sensor is operative to detect a braking operation and produce a braking signal representative thereof. A shift lock mechanism prevents the pulling of the control lever toward the driver's seat and disables the control lever from being released from the above described limitation in rotation by the location means when receiving the stoppage signal only. When the shift lock mechanism receives both of the stoppage signal and the braking signal, it allows the pulling of the control lever toward the driver's seat and enables the control lever from being released from the above described limitation in rotation by the location mechanism.

摘要: It is an object of present invention to provide an efficient method for grinding of the surface of a work and an apparatus thereof, using a magnetic fluid containing abrasive grains. The method of the present invention for grinding a work immersed in a magnetic fluid containing abrasive grains filled in a container, said magnetic fluid being given a magnetic field from the outside of the container with magnet comprises: immersing a floating pad in said magnetic fluid at a position adjacent to the work, said floating pad being given a buoyant force by said magnetic field whereby the abrasive grains existing between the floating pad and the work are pushed onto the work and giving a mutual motion between the work and the magnetic fluid containing abrasive grains. In conventional method for grindings using a magnetic fluid containing abrasive grains and without the floating pad, the grinding load has been mainly dependent upon the buoyant force of abrasive grains, but the grinding rate thereby was too small owing to rather little buoyant force of abrasive grains.According to the present invention using the floating pad, the grinding rate is significantly improved by strongly pushing abrasive grains onto the surface of the work, resulting from larger grinding load and the resistant power of the floating pad to the grinding direction.

摘要: A method for controlling the thickness of an extruded, biaxially elongated film product, in which thickness deviations are controlled automatically and without supervision. In the method, correlation between positions along the widthwise direction of a film sheet and positions of die manipulation bolts of an extrusion die is obtained, and initially, a profile of the film sheet prior to lateral elongation is converged into a tolerable range; thereafter, the thickness of the film sheet after lateral elongation is measured, and if there are thickness deviations outside the tolerable range, a thickness regulation is effected by transmitting a signal corresponding to the thickness deviations to the appropriate die manipulation bolts.

摘要: An industrial detergent useful for degreasing and cleansing of metal parts, which is in the form of an aqueous solution and comprises 3 to 20 parts by weight of a fatty acid sucrose ester as a nonionic surfactant, 3 to 15 parts by weight of polyoxyethylene alkyl ether also as a nonionic surfactant, 1 to 10 parts by weight of a chelating agent for metal ions typified by EDTA, 1 to 5 parts by weight of a petroleum sulfonic acid salt, preferably an alkanolamine salt, as a rust-inhibiting agent and 3 to 10 parts by weight of propylene glycol. Optionally small amounts of sorbitol and/or CMC may be added. This detergent is weak in alkalinity but strong in deterging power, and the organic surfactants are harmless to the human body and can be decomposed by microorganisms.
