Abstract: In some examples, an insert assembly includes an insert, a rivet, and a washer configured to position on a brake disc. The insert is configured to position within a disc slot of the brake disc. The rivet shank is configured extend through a washer hole of the washer and a rivet slot of the insert to secure the insert to the brake disc. The washer is configured to be positioned between the insert and a rivet head of the rivet when the rivet shank extends into the brake disc. The rivet slot is configured to allow for the motion of the insert relative to the rivet in the tangential direction when torque is imparted through the disc slot via the insert. In some examples, the rivet is a solid rivet. In some examples, the rivet head is an orbitally riveted head fabricated using an orbital riveting tool.

Abstract: Various systems and methods are provided for wet brake systems for vehicles. In one embodiment, a wet brake system for a vehicle includes a drive shaft, a housing including a brake compartment and a reservoir axially offset from the brake compartment along the drive shaft, a brake plate assembly including an end plate arranged within the brake compartment, a lower channel formed between the end plate and the housing and arranged at a drain end of the housing, and an upper channel formed between the end plate and the housing, opposite to the lower channel across the drive shaft. Coolant/lubricant within the housing, such as oil, may flow out of the brake compartment during conditions in which the drive shaft is rotated, and may flow into the brake compartment during conditions in which the drive shaft does not rotate or is relatively stationary.

A drive key body defines a trough configured to receive the wheel boss. Abstract: A brake assembly for landing gear of an aircraft includes a caliper member and a carrier member. The caliper member includes a gas inlet configured to receive a cooling gas supplied by an on board fuel inerting gas supply system of the aircraft, and a manifold fluidly coupled to the gas inlet. The manifold is configured to distribute the cooling gas to one or more outlet ports of the caliper member. The carrier member is configured to be coupled to the caliper member. The carrier member includes a cylindrical section configured to receive a stacked arrangement of stators and rotors. The cylindrical section defines one or more interior passages configured to fluidly couple the outlet ports of the caliper member to one or more outlet ports of the cylindrical section. The outlet ports of the cylindrical section are arranged proximate the stacked arrangement of stators and rotors to facilitate forced convective cooling of the stacked arrangement of stators and rotors with the cooling gas supplied by the on board fuel inerting gas supply system.
