A broadcast signal receiver according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises a synchronization & demodulation module performing signal detection and OFDM demodulation on a received broadcast signal; a frame parsing & deinterleaving module performing parsing and deinterleaving of a signal frame of the broadcast signal; a demapping & decoding module performing conversion of data of at least one Physical Layer Pipe (PLP) of the broadcast signal into the bit domain and FEC decoding of the converted PLP data; and an output processing module outputting a data stream by receiving the at least one PLP data.

The processor may be configured to select an external electronic device in response to a user input, broadcast, through the at least one communication circuit using a first protocol, a connection request for a second protocol-based communication with the external electronic device, receive a response to the connection request from the external electronic device through the at least one communication circuit, and perform communication with the external electronic device through the at least one communication circuit using a second protocol, based on connection information about the external electronic device for the second protocol-based communication, the connection information being contained in the response.

摘要: A system and method supporting over-the-air programming of access device such as, for example, a mobile multimedia handset and a wireless personal digital assistant (PDA) via a broadband access gateway, is disclosed. The broadband access gateway may receive identifying information from the access device via a personal area network and/or a wireless local area network, and may transfer the identifying information to a wide area network or a third party content provider, via a broadband network. The broadband access gateway may enable the registration of the access device with the wide area network, and may receive firmware/software updates and/or provisioning parameters via the broadband network. The gateway may then transfer the firmware/software update and/or provisioning parameters to the access device via the personal area network and/or wireless local area network.

摘要: A system and method for transmitting the audio component of a performance, such as a movie, to audience members located in the listening area of a venue, such as a movie theater, to improve the quality of the audio experience and reduce problems with other noise activity interfering with the performance. The system and method use the location of the occupied seats, geometry of the venue and the audience density to produce a structured operating envelope that is utilized to more efficiently and effectively broadcast an audio signal, which comprises the audio component of the performance, to individual audience members. The audio signal is received by a smart phone or other electronic device associated with one or more audience members. The audio component is transferred to headphones, ear buds or other devices worn by an audience member and connected, wired or wirelessly, to the electronic device.

The method includes identifying a guard band in an allocated band of wireless spectrum, reassigning an existing channel occupying a portion of the allocated band of wireless spectrum to the guard band via selective single frequency network infill to yield a reassigned channel, and freeing the portion of the allocated band of wireless spectrum.
