    Abstract: A post sleeve provides a substantially permanent base for supporting a post for a fence or sign, and from which one post can be removed and replaced with another post. The sleeve includes a rigid, elongate body and a cavity extending within the body and configured to receive an end of a post of a selected size and shape. A unique identifier is provided that differentiates the post sleeve from other post sleeves. The unique identifier can be in the form of a string of characters or symbols affixed to the post sleeve, or can be in a machine readable format, such as a bar code or a radio frequency identification tag. The unique identifier can include elements denoting additional information, such as a manufacturer's serial number, a model number, a date of manufacture, a name of a manufacturer, or a place of manufacture.

    Abstract: A channelizer post suitable for delineating traffic lanes, identifying road gore zones, road verges, and pedestrian areas, and the like, is disclosed. While replaceable, the post is normally permanently installed. The post has spring-back capabilities, such that after the post is hit by an object such as a vehicle, the post springs back to a normal vertical position. The post includes a capped tube, preferably formed of an engineered plastic, such as UV stabilized thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and a base also preferably formed of an engineered plastic, such as a UV-stable high-impact thermoplastic alloy. The plastics are such that they are weldable together when the post is formed. The cap includes a plurality of holes that allow air to escape from the capped tube when the post is hit by an object and air to reenter the capped tube when the post springs back to its normal vertical position. Molded into the base is a threaded bolt designed to thread into a threaded cup permanently installed in a roadway or other location. Finally, located inside of the vertical component is a kicker tube, preferably formed of the same material as the tube and the cap. All of the plastic components are welded to one another.

    Abstract: A directional roadway delineator includes an elongate, tubular body having a frontal impact face and a rearward face. The tubular body has a lower section disposable at least partially below a surface of the roadway to secure the delineator below the roadway surface.     Abstract: A device adapted to be at least partially inserted into an aggregation of material and retained therein. The device has an opening formed therethrough to receive a novel anchoring component. The device may be a marker which advantageously has a Miles Utility configuration, and which has the opening formed in a stake portion of the marker. The anchor has a bridge element which extends through the opening to hold a pair of legs in an opposed and upright position. The legs resiliently grasp the opposite sides of the marker to prevent the anchor from falling out or being bumped out of the opening. There is also disclosed a two-piece marker with the Miles Utility configuration for the post which is resiliently joined to a support to provide a universal hinge action to prevent the wings from being crumpled or permanently deformed to prevent or inhibit the post from returning to an upright position.

    Abstract: A self-righting warning marker includes a base having a warning sign attached thereto and projecting upwardly therefrom. The warning sign is preferably formed of a polymer which is rigid yet resilient and flexible, to prevent breakage upon contact from a vehicle or the like. The base of the marker has a pivot surface extending between a rearward face and a bottom surface so that the marker will roll along the pivot surface from an upright orientation to a horizontal orientation if contacted by a vehicle. A ballast weight within the base is located such that the center of gravity of the marker is located forwardly of the pivot surface to thereby cause the marker to be self-righting. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, an illuminator is mounted on the marker, with a lens attached along an upper edge of the warning sign and a bundle of fiber optic cables extending through the panel of the warning sign to a power source in the base which includes a light and a battery.
