摘要: An image reading apparatus includes a document table, a pressing plate that rotates about a rotation axis between an open position and a closed position, a line sensor that includes an image sensor arranged in a main scanning direction intersecting the rotation axis and outputs data by reading a document on the document table, and a control unit that determines presence or absence of the document based on first data acquired by the line sensor when the pressing plate is in an intermediate position before reaching the closed position and second data acquired by the line sensor when the pressing plate is in the closed position, wherein when the control unit determines the presence or absence of the document based on the first data and the second data, the control unit uses coefficient data that is smaller as a distance from the rotation axis is longer.

摘要: When a size of a document is not specified, a control unit of an image reading device identifies, for image data generated as a reading result by a reading unit, a region of the document by detecting an edge of the document. When the size of the document is specified, the control unit searches the image data, at a position within a first range including a position away from an origin by a first distance, for a downstream end of the document from a downstream end of the image data toward upstream in a transport direction, and based on a position of the downstream end of the document identified by the searching, identifies as a region of the document a region corresponding to the size of the document specified.

摘要: An image scanning apparatus includes a sheet loading unit, a pickup roller, a first conveying roller, a detecting unit, a first stepping motor, a second conveying roller, a second stepping motor, a scanning unit, and a control unit that starts driving of the second stepping motor after performing phase matching of the second stepping motor. The control unit starts driving of the first stepping motor without performing phase matching of the first stepping motor. When an instruction to start scanning is input, the control unit starts the phase matching of the second stepping motor. When the detecting unit detects the document, the control unit starts driving of the first stepping motor after completion of the phase matching of the second stepping motor. When the detecting unit detects no document, the control unit starts driving of the first stepping motor before completion of the phase matching of the second stepping motor.

摘要: A method and system of controlling at least one printbar in a printing system are described. The printing system has one or more of printbars distributed along a media transport. A first image including a reference pattern is generated on a print medium with a first printbar. A pattern is then detected on the print medium. The reference pattern and the detected pattern are used to determine a position of the first image relative to a second printbar. This position is used to configure nozzle data for a second image to be generated on the print medium by the second printbar.

The conveyance section conveys a sheet in a first scanning direction. The detection section, based on an image signal read by the first image reading section, detects a front end portion and a rear end portion of the sheet in the first scanning direction.
