Abstract: The invention described herein generally pertains to a composition that includes a silyl-terminated polymer having silyl groups linked to a polymer backbone via triazole. The silyl-terminated polymer is a reaction product of a functionalized polymer backbone and a functionalized silane. The polymer backbone includes a first functional group, which may be one of an azide or an alkyne. The functionalized silane includes a second functional group may also be one of an azide or an alkyne, but is also different from the first functional group. The functionalized polymer backbone is reacted with the functionalized silane in the presence of a metal catalyst.

Abstract: Disclosed are polymers that are poly(beta-amino ester)s (PBAEs) modified with at least one oligopeptide. The polymers may be used in any field where polymers have been found useful including (but not limited to) in medical fields, particularly in drug delivery. The polymers are particularly useful in delivering a polynucleotide such as DNA, RNA, and siRNA, a small molecule, or a protein. Also disclosed are compositions comprising said polymers and an active agent, methods of encapsulating an agent in a matrix of said polymers, and said polymers and compositions for use in medicine.

Abstract: Polyester polymers are described comprising polymerized units comprising a hydroxy functional aromatic group wherein the hydroxy group has been functionalized with an adhesion promoting group. In some embodiments, the polyester polymer comprises polymerized units have the general structure (A) wherein L1 and L2 are independently divalent linking groups comprising an ester group; and RA is an adhesion promoting group bonded to the oxygen atom by means of an ionic or covalent bond. In other embodiments, film articles, laminates are described and methods of making functionalized polyester polymers are described.

Abstract: Structures and methods of making biodegradable trehalose co-polymers are disclosed. Specifically, biodegradable trehalose co-polymers consist of the general structure R5—[R1R2C—CR3R4]n-[DG]m—R6, wherein R1-R4 are independently selected from hydrogen or a side chain comprising at least one carbon atom, and wherein at least one of R1-R4 is a side chain comprising -L-trehalose, wherein L is a linker molecule that links trehalose to the monomer through at least one of the trehalose hydroxyl groups (—OH), wherein DG is a biodegradable group, and wherein R5 and R6 are end groups.

Abstract: The present invention relates to biodegradable copolyesters with molecular weight Mn from 10 000 to 100 000 measured by GPC, obtainable via reaction of i) from 51 to 84% by weight, based on the copolyester, of a branched polyester middle block produced from aliphatic or aliphatic and aromatic dicarboxylic acids and from aliphatic dihydroxy compounds with molecular weight Mn from 5000 to 25 000 measured by 1H NMR with from 15.9 to 48.9% by weight, based on the copolyester, of a lactide in the presence of a catalyst, and then the resultant polyester triblock with molecular weight Mn measured by 1H NMR from 5800 to 49 500 with ii) from 0.1 to 3% by weight, based on the copolyester, of a diisocyanate. The present invention further relates to a process for the production of, and to the use of, the abovementioned biodegradable copolyesters.
