Abstract: Provided herein are antigenic combinations and related compositions, methods and systems for immunizing a host from an infection caused by Francisella bacterium. The antigenic combination comprises an antigenic polysaccharide component from a Francisella bacterium capable of triggering a humoral immune response in an individual, a protein antigen component from the Francisella bacterium capable of triggering a cellular immune response in the individual, and an adjuvant, the antigenic Francisella polysaccharide component, the Francisella protein antigen component and the adjuvant are in a suitable amount to immunize an individual against the Francisella bacterium.

Abstract: A sensor uses microneedle electrodes and multi-frequency electrical impedance spectroscopy to monitor plant water status in real time. The microneedle can be between 10 and 1000 microns in length, enabling precise placement in a variety of plant tissues. The impedance behavior can distinguish electrical properties and physiological functions of different plant tissue types. Therefore, impedance measurements can be used to monitor water stress to prevent irreversible damage to a plant and to enable improvement of plant biomass or fruit yield.

Abstract: The present invention provides one or more injection-lockable whistle-geometry semiconductor ring lasers, which may be cascaded, that are integrated on a common silicon-on-insulator (SOI) substrate with a single-frequency semiconductor master laser, wherein the light output from the semiconductor master laser is used to injection-lock the first of the semiconductor ring lasers. The ring lasers can be operated in strongly injection-locked mode, while at least one of them is subjected to direct injection current modulation.

Abstract: Technologies relating to a magnetic resonance spectrometer are disclosed. The magnetic resonance spectrometer may include a doped nanostructured crystal. By nanostructuring the surface of the crystal, the sensor-sample contact area of the crystal can be increased. As a result of the increased sensor-sample contact area, the output fluorescence signal emitted from the crystal is also increased, with corresponding reductions in measurement acquisition time and requisite sample volumes.

Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for analyzing statistical quality of bitstrings produced by a physical unclonable function (PUF). The PUF leverages resistance variations in the power grid wires of an integrated circuit. Temperature and voltage stability of the bitstrings are analyzed. The disclosure also describes converting a voltage drop into a digital code, wherein the conversion is resilient to simple and differential side-channel attacks.
