    Abstract: A display device includes a substrate comprising a display part, a pad part, and a bending part between the display part and the pad part, a display layer disposed on a first surface of the display part and comprising pixels, a pad electrode disposed on a first surface of the pad part, and a metal layer disposed on a second surface of the display part and on a second surface of the pad part. The second surface of the display part is opposite to the first surface of the display part, and the second surface of the pad part is opposite to the first surface of the pad part. A thickness of the bending part is smaller than at least one of a thickness of the display part and a thickness of the pad part. A planar shape of the bending part is determined by the metal layer.

    Abstract: A display device includes a base layer including a first surface and a second surface, pixels and first lines that are disposed on the first surface, second lines disposed on the second surface and corresponding to the first lines, a multi-layered etch stopper layer disposed on the first surface and disposed between the base layer and the first lines, and via holes penetrating the base layer and the multi-layered etch stopper layer, the via holes connecting the first lines to the second lines. The multi-layered etch stopper layer includes a first etch stopper layer disposed on the first surface and surrounding each of the via holes, the first etch stopper layer including an inorganic layer, and a second etch stopper layer entirely disposed on the first surface including the first etch stopper layer, the second etch stopper layer being open in a region corresponding to the via holes.

    Abstract: A display device includes a display area and a seal area which surrounds the display area. The display device includes a first display substrate, a second display substrate facing the first display substrate; and a sealant disposed between the first display substrate and the second display substrate, in the seal area. The first display substrate has a first base substrate, a first polarizing element including a plurality of first linear patterns extending along a first direction on the first base substrate, and a first protective layer on the first polarizing element and including a first opening. The sealant covers the first opening. Adjacent first linear patterns are separated from each other along a second direction, intersecting the first direction, by a first gap and the first opening exposes at least one first gap in the seal area.

    Abstract: A polarizer includes an opening defined in the polarizer and through which light transmits; a non-opening which is adjacent to the opening and blocks the light; a plurality of metal lines elongated in a first direction, and separated from each other in a second direction different than the first direction, in the opening; and a plate-type pattern in the non-opening. A height of the metal lines is smaller than a height of the plate-type pattern, from a same reference; and an interval in the second direction and between adjacent metal lines is smaller than a wavelength of visible light rays.
