Abstract: A method for estimating blood pressure using a blood flow occlusion system applied to an artery includes receiving from a first sensor a sensed signal; processing at a processor the sensed signal to detect beats in a pulsatile signal; determining validity of the detected beats; storing the detected beats and data associated with the detected beats in the sensed signal as the pressure applied to the artery by the blood flow occlusion system deflates towards a level below a nominal level; determining baseline beat characteristics; evaluating the stored beats and associated data to detect change in beat characteristics as compared to the baseline beat characteristics; selecting a beat before the detected change in the beat characteristic as the last beat indicating the onset of the diastolic blood pressure for the artery; determining a value of the applied pressure at the last beat as the diastolic blood pressure for the artery.

Abstract: A method includes receiving multimodal data collected using at least one wearable device during an assessment window. The method also includes extracting biomarker features from the multimodal data, based on changes in the extracted biomarker features. The method also includes detecting that a stress event occurred during the assessment window. The method also includes accessing a plurality of templates of patterns in biomarker features, wherein a first subset of the templates is associated with unhealthy response to stress and a second subset of the templates is associated with healthy response to stress. The method also includes determining whether the stress event corresponds to a healthy response or an unhealthy response based on similarities between a pattern in the extracted biomarker features and the plurality of templates. The method also includes responsive to the stress event corresponding to an unhealthy response, providing a stress management recommendation.

Abstract: A method of measuring a bio signal using a bio signal measuring apparatus includes: positioning electrodes included as part of the bio signal measuring apparatus to contact a surface of an examinee; switching an impedance measurer included as part of the bio signal measuring apparatus and including a voltmeter and a current source; measuring a first impedance value of the examinee while operating the impedance measurer according to a first mode; switching the impedance measurer to a second mode; measuring a second impedance value of the examinee while operating the impedance measurer according to a second mode; and obtaining bio impedance of the examinee based on the first and second impedance values and an internal impedance of the current source.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes accessing a sequence of images of a portion of a person's skin illuminated by ambient light and determining, from at least one of the images, a plurality of microregions in the portion of the person's skin. The method further includes determining, based on a similarity between particular microregions of the plurality of microregions, one or more regions of interest of the person's skin; determining, for each of the regions of interest, a remote photoplethysmogram (rPPG) signal based on the sequence of images; and determining, based on one or more of the rPPG signals, an estimate of an oxygen saturation in the person's blood.
