Abstract:
A synchronization method, a control system and a slave unit for the time synchronization of at least two slave units, in which the slave units and the master unit are connected by two signal lines. A signal transmitted by the master unit returns to the master unit after passing through all the slave units. Two independent counters are provided in each slave unit, these counters being activated by reception of a reference signal transmitted by the master unit. The first time counter counts the time since the receipt of the reference signal via the first signal line and the second time counter counts the time since the receipt of the reference signal via the second signal line. The counter contents are read out as soon as the sum of the counter contents reaches a signal throughput time transmitted previously by the master unit.

Abstract:
A flexible tube and a container manufactured with a detachable cover that is reusable as a cap. The detachable cover includes a plastic top member and a skirt. The plastic top member has a neck and a cover. The neck is connected to the cover by a tearable ring-shaped part. The cover has a circular plate with an interlocking mechanism, for example, at least three lugs projecting radially from a periphery of the circular plate. The skirt has a common axis of symmetry with the cover and has an inner surface that follows the periphery of the circular plate. The skirt also has a receiving mechanism, for example, at least three cavities that are positioned to receive the at least three lugs such that the skirt becomes immobilized with respect to the plastic top member. The skirt encircles the outer surface of the neck. The skirt and the cover are configured to cap the flexible tube or container after tearing the tearable ring-shaped part.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a tube (1) of which the head (2) comprises an impermeable cap (5) which may be torn by twisting, characterized in that this cap has a lateral surface (5) of polygonal contour (6) inclined at less than 10.degree. to the axis (16) of the tube (1) and a tear zone (10) contained between the lateral surface (50) and an internal surface (11) of the cap (5) comprising at least one thin portion having a minimum thickness of 0.05 to 0.18 mm and at least one portion (9, 9') which is at least 1.5 times thicker. The invention also relates to the tube (1) accompanied by a cover maintaining the integrity of the periphery of the cap and comprising a key fitting over the cap so as to tear it by twisting, and to its use in particular for storing and dispensing liquids in metered droplets. The tube is typically used for storing and dispensing medical or cosmetic liquids.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of making a dispensing head comprising a rigid annular dome made of plastics and, above the dome, a dispensing valve or a pump, the valve or pump having an annular fixing shoulder, the circumference of which is made at least externally of plastics, the lower end of the dome carrying an annular flange for fixing over a can body. In the method disclosed the valve or pump is disposed between tools which tightly grip the fixing shoulder and provide play which limits its heating during a molding operation. Annular tools are provided, forming a circular gap with the tools that grip the fixing shoulder, the gap closing over the shoulder and forming the geometry of the dome and its annular fixing flange. Molten plastics are injected into the annular gap through one or more injection orifices, the molded dispensing head cooled and demolded. The invention also relates to the corresponding preassembled heads and dispensers using them. The invention can be utilized in packaging of liquid or cream products in aerosol or pump type dispensers.
Abstract:
Provided are compositions comprising compounds or precursors to compounds which may be used for a variety of therapeutic applications including, for example, treating and/or preventing a disease or disorder related to reduced or inadequate mitochondrial activity, including aging or stress, diabetes, obesity, and neurodegenerative diseases. The compounds relate generally to urolithins and precursors thereof, including but not limited to ellagitannins and urolithin A. In certain embodiments the compositions are presented in or as food products or nutritional supplements. These same compounds and compositions can also be used advantageously in generally healthy individuals to increase or maintain metabolic rate, decrease percent body fat, increase or maintain muscle mass, manage body weight, improve or maintain mental performance (including memory), improve or maintain muscle performance, improve or maintain mood, and manage stress.
Abstract:
A tube for dispensing a paste bead comprising a principal paste and a central thread of a second or secondary paste. The tube comprises a skirt portion, a neck portion having an opening serving as a dispensing orifice and a shouder portion joining the skirt and neck portions. The tube further comprises a distributing member comprising a cover portion disposed between the interior of the neck portion and the interior of the skirt portion, and fixed to the interior of the shoulder portion. This distributing member comprises a plurality of longitudinal, generally tubular passages opening into the interior of the skirt portion and into the interior of the neck portion through the cover portion, the tubular passages being separated by at least one gap which is open to the interior of the tube and open to the neck portion through at least one central aperture in the cover portion. The dispensing orifice is located at least 1.5 mm from the central aperture and has a cross-section smaller than 0.8 times the sum of the cross-sections of the tubular passages and the central aperture.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a distributor for pasty material. A pushbutton member (101) is provided with a distribution conduit (105) having a lateral outlet. The pushbutton member being slidable longitudinally with respect to a guide means (110) which is fixed with respect to the body of the distributor. The distribution conduit being sealingly connected to an element for carrying the flow of pasty material to the conduit (105). The pushbutton member (101) acting on a spring-action element causing it to be returned to the released position, and on a compression element forming part of the element for carrying the flow of pasty material. The distributor is characterised in that it includes a masking element (113) which is fixed with respect to the body of the distributor (116). The element leaving the outlet orifice (116) of the distribution conduit (105) open when the pushbutton member (101) is depressed and masking the orifice (116) when the pushbutton member (101) is released. The invention is used for distribution operations in the fields of cosmetology, hygiene and health, pharmaceuticals and foodstuffs.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a tube with a plastic neck and with a cover to be welded over the neck after its cap has been fixed, the cover having at least one projecting portion for pulling it off, with cap holding the cover while it is being sealed over the neck. The cover has one or more projecting tabs, at least one of which is used to pull off the sealed cover and the cover is deformable and has little or no resilience. The end of the cap has a shoulder to press the cover onto the neck, which shoulder is configured so that it does not bear on the burrs of the neck, and the neck and cap have space between them for the bent back projecting tab or tabs of the cover. The invention also concerns a method of sealing the tube by induction or ultrasonic welding. The invention is used for the packaging of toiletries, cosmetics or food products.
