    Abstract: Aspects relate to managing a device-to-device communication link via radio resource control (RRC) layer signaling. In an example operation, a first wireless communication device establishes a unicast link with a second wireless communication device over a device-to-device communication interface and determines that the unicast link is to be reconfigured with at least one updated parameter. The first wireless communication device then sends a link reconfiguration request to the second wireless communication device via a first RRC message over the communication interface. The first RRC message includes the at least one updated parameter. The first wireless communication device receives a link reconfiguration response from the second wireless communication device via a second RRC message over the communication interface based on the link reconfiguration request and determines whether to reconfigure the unicast link using the at least one updated parameter based on the received link reconfiguration response.

    Abstract: Aspects directed towards network-assisted sidelink scheduling are disclosed. In one example, a scheduled entity receives coverage status information of a peer user equipment (UE), and transmits a coverage status report to a network in which the coverage status report is based on the coverage status information received from the peer UE. The scheduled entity receives a resource scheduling from the network in response to transmitting the coverage status report, and establishes a sidelink communication with the peer UE based on the resource scheduling. In another example, a scheduling entity receives a coverage status report from a UE in which the coverage status report is associated with a peer UE of the UE. The scheduling entity determines a resource scheduling for the UE based on the coverage status report to facilitate a sidelink communication between the UE and the peer UE, and transmits the resource scheduling to the UE.

    Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable mediums for wireless communication are disclosed by the present disclosure. In an example, a host wireless device may transmit a discovery message to a client wireless device. The client wireless device may transmit a random access channel (RACH) preamble on a first time domain resource to the host wireless device in response to the discovery message. The client wireless device may later transmit a second RACH message to the host device on a second time domain resource after the first time domain resource. The second time domain resource may be defined by a mapping from the first time domain resource. The host device may transmit a third RACH message establishing a communication session between the host wireless device and the client wireless device.

    Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may determine a preferred beamforming direction for communications with each of a plurality of neighbor UEs. The apparatus may transmit a first scheduling request to a second UE from among the plurality of neighbor UEs. In certain aspects, the first scheduling request may include a first transmission schedule for M transmission opportunities (TxOPs). In certain other aspects, the first transmission schedule may indicate a first set of TxOPs of the M TxOPs reserved by the first UE for communication with the second UE. The apparatus may receive a first scheduling response from the second UE, the first scheduling response indicating whether the second UE accepts or rejects the first scheduling request.
