    Abstract: The technology disclosed herein relates to enhancing satellite coverage and improving user device experiences. For example, the technology discussed herein can include establishing a radio resource control (RRC) connection between a first satellite and a user device (e.g., an active or idle RRC connection). Based on the RRC connection, the first satellite can generate a message (e.g., an RRC connection release message) that includes a next satellite pass parameter within a field of the message. Based on the satellite transmitting the next satellite pass parameter to the user device, the user device can initiate one or more user device actions. For example, the user device can initiate a timer corresponding to scanning for a frequency band of the second satellite corresponding to the next satellite pass parameter.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a communication method and apparatus. The method may include: A terminal device receives a first timer from a network device that indicates a first duration after which the terminal device initiates periodic connection establishment to the network device. The first duration is greater than or equal to a duration of the terminal device in a non-coverage area of a satellite. The terminal device activates the first timer when the terminal device determines that the terminal device leaves a coverage area of the satellite.

    Abstract: A system and method for implementing a high speed link between a mobile cache and an edge cache. For example, one embodiment of a system comprises: a mobile cache deployed on a vessel/vehicle, the mobile cache to store multimedia content to be provided to passengers on the vessel/vehicle; a first network device including a first plurality of wireless network antennas communicatively coupled to the mobile cache; an edge cache deployed at a designated location at which the vessel/vehicle is expected; a second network device including a second plurality of wireless network antennas communicatively coupled to the edge cache; wherein upon arrival at the designated location, each of the first plurality of wireless network antennas is paired with at least one of the second plurality of wireless network antennas to establish a plurality of simultaneous wireless links to exchange multimedia content between the edge cache and the mobile cache.

    Abstract: Presented herein are techniques to facilitate providing slice attribute information to a user equipment (UE) for one or more slice types with which the user equipment is allowed to establish one or more session(s). In one example, a method may include obtaining, by a network element, a registration request for connection of a UE to a mobile network; performing an authentication for connection of the UE to the mobile network; and upon successful authentication, providing, by the network element, a registration response to the UE, wherein the registration response identifies one or more network slice types with which the UE is authorized to establish a session and the registration response identifies one of: attribute information for each of the one or more network slice types or network location information from which attribute information for each of the one or more network slice types is to be obtained.

    Abstract: A system and method establish bidirectional communication between an UAV terminal and a GCS terminal. Each terminal includes first and second communication modules. The first communication module is based on a radio module and the second communication module is based on wireless communication for data transfer. Through the radio module, the first communication unit of GCS terminal requests the UAV terminal to activate the second communication unit. The flight control data is then transmitted to the UAV terminal from the GCS terminal where the flight mission is planned and optimized.
