摘要: The present disclosure is directed to migrating network traffic from a licensed spectrum to an unlicensed spectrum within the same radio access technology (RAT). In one aspect, a method includes identifying a user device connected to a cellular wireless access technology, over a licensed spectrum; determining whether a condition for switching network traffic associated with the user device to an unlicensed spectrum is triggered; in response to determining that the condition is triggered, determining an unlicensed spectrum to move the network traffic to, the unlicensed spectrum being within a same cell as the licensed spectrum or in a different cell compared to a cell in which the licensed spectrum is; and migrating at least a portion of the network traffic to the unlicensed spectrum while maintaining network connectivity of the user device over the cellular wireless access technology.

摘要: The present technology is generally directed to dynamically adding network resources based on an application function (AF) notification. The present technology can determine, by an AF of a service provider, a network congestion on a network, the network congestion indicating that network resources for servicing a user device using services of the service provider do not meet corresponding Quality of Service (QOS) requirements. Further, the present technology can transmit a notification by the AF to a core network of a network provider to request additional network resources to be allocated for servicing the user device, the network provider providing network connectivity for the user device to receive the services provided by the service provider.

摘要: A network function selectively supports a mobile device with network settings appropriate for the device context of the mobile device. The network function obtains a device profile for the mobile device, which identifies multiple device groups, with each device group being associated with a corresponding set of network settings. The network function selects a device group among the device groups in the device profile based on a device context of the mobile device. Responsive to a notification of the mobile device in a different device context, the network function supports the mobile device with a different set of network settings that cause a Session Management Function (SMF) to reconfigure the user plane for the mobile device.

In one example, a method may include obtaining, by a network element, a registration request for connection of a UE to a mobile network; performing an authentication for connection of the UE to the mobile network; and upon successful authentication, providing, by the network element, a registration response to the UE, wherein the registration response identifies one or more network slice types with which the UE is authorized to establish a session and the registration response identifies one of: attribute information for each of the one or more network slice types or network location information from which attribute information for each of the one or more network slice types is to be obtained.

摘要: Disclosed are a system and method for updating a user equipment route selection policy. The method includes receiving, at a home network in communication with a user equipment, an indication that a user of the user equipment desires to connect to a standalone non-public network for an event, receiving service hosting information for the event, revising a user equipment route selection policy at the home network based on the service hosting information to yield an updated user equipment route selection policy and transmitting the updated user equipment route selection policy to the user equipment. The user equipment registers, based on the updated user equipment route selection policy, with the standalone non-public network for the event.

摘要: Provisioning User Equipment (UE) Route Selection Policies (URSP) may be provided. A policy of a user equipment (UE) may be updated by a Policy Control Function (PCF). Then, the PCF may create a UE route selection policy (URSP) based on the updated UE policy. Next, the PCF may set a flag in in the URSP that may indicate to the UE that the URSP is applicable for new sessions and inapplicable for ongoing sessions. The PCF may then send the URSP to the UE, wherein the UE applies the URSP for new sessions.

In one example, a method includes obtaining, by a user plane function (UPF), a first uplink data packet from a client device, wherein the first uplink data packet is to be communicated to an application; determining, by the UPF based on the first uplink data packet, whether the client device supports AKMA functionality; based on determining that the client device does not support the AKMA functionality, buffering at least the first uplink data packet by the user plane function and determining whether the application supports the AKMA functionality; and based on determining that the application supports the AKMA functionality, performing AKMA functionality by the UPF for the client device for data communications between the client device and the application.

In one example, a method may include provisioning a UE route selection policy (URSP) for each of a first UE and a second UE, wherein each URSP provisioned for each of the first UE and the second UE comprises: a first token that identifies at least one network resource that is to be utilized for a session for each of the first UE and the second UE; and a second token associated with a quality of service (QoS) that is to be provided for each session. The first token can be used to establish a session for each of the first and second UE using the same at least network resource and each session can be provided a QoS level based on the second token.
