    Abstract: A system for determining image capture degradation of a camera sensor is disclosed. The system is configured to capture a series of image frames by a camera of a vehicle over time. The system is configured to generate a latent image from a series of images captured by the camera. The system generates a plurality of frequency layers based on the latent image by, for example, performing a high frequency multiscale fusion transform. The system generates a plurality of frequency layers, each corresponding a spectral sub-band frequency, and each frequency layer includes the coefficients. The system generates a degradation map based on the processed activation map and generates an output based on the activation map. The output may be provided to an output system to wash the camera lens, notify a user or the vehicle of blockage, or modify image processing.

    Abstract: The present technology is directed to determining an accuracy of an infrared (IR) camera, and more particularly, validating a distortion accuracy of an IR camera. The present technology can receive one or more images of a calibration harp captured by the IR camera, wherein the one or more images include a plurality of lines corresponding to a plurality of strings of the calibration harp. The present technology can further determine a degree of distortion of the plurality of lines based on a distortion error coefficient, wherein the distortion error coefficient is computed based on edge points of the plurality of lines on the one or more images.

    Abstract: An image generation method in an imaging apparatus that includes a plurality of pixels, includes: performing a first imaging operation of capturing an image when each of the plurality of pixels is shielded from light, in a state in which a reference signal level in the first imaging operation is set to a first offset value; and generating first image data based on a first pixel signal obtained by the first imaging operation. The first offset value is higher than a second offset value that is a reference signal level in a second imaging operation of capturing an image in a state in which light is incident on each of the plurality of pixels.

    Abstract: A vehicular driver assistance system includes a camera that views through the windshield of the vehicle and a control device having an image processor that processes captured image data. Responsive to processing of captured image data by the image processor, the system adjusts a light beam emitted by a headlamp of the vehicle. The control device, responsive at least in part to image data processing by the image processor, determines when the vehicle is at a construction zone. Responsive to determination that the vehicle is at a construction zone, image processing of image data captured by the camera is adjusted to discriminate construction zone signs from taillights of leading vehicles. Responsive to determination of the vehicle exiting the construction zone, the control device adjusts the light beam emitted by the headlamp of the vehicle responsive to determination of headlamps of approaching vehicles and taillights of leading vehicles.
