    Abstract: A safety switching apparatus for safely switching on an electrical load includes for this purpose, the functionality of two non-forcibly guided changeover switches and, in particular, their normally closed contacts, which can be monitored during a starting process without using a microcontroller. The normally closed contacts are each arranged in a separate diagnostic circuit, which are connected in parallel with respect to a test voltage. The diagnostic circuits are each monitored by a diagnostic current detection device. The excitation coils of the changeover switches can each be short-circuited via a short-circuit device if a diagnostic current continues to flow in the respective diagnostic circuit for a predetermined time period after an activated starting process.

    Abstract: The control apparatus includes an electrical signal detection unit, a control unit, a contactor, a first execution unit, a protection unit, and a second execution unit. The electrical signal detection unit detects an electrical signal on a loop, and send the electrical signal to the control unit. The control unit generates a control signal, and send the control signal to the first execution unit. The contactor is connected to the loop. The first execution unit controls the contactor to be closed or opened, where when the contactor is closed, the loop is connected, and when the contactor is opened, the loop is disconnected. The protection unit detects a current value on the loop when the contactor is closed, where an opening instruction is sent to the second execution unit when the current value reaches a trip threshold. The second execution unit opens the contactor when receiving the opening instruction.

    Abstract: A multi-stage surge protection device protects against complex, time-variant voltage transients, including those resulting from a high-altitude nuclear electromagnetic pulse or a solar coronal mass ejection. The transient voltage suppressor limits the let-through voltage to a clamping level and provides indication to the crowbar circuit when it is no longer able to do so. Once the clamping level is no longer able to be maintained, the crowbar circuit draws enough current to trip an upstream protective device, such as a breaker or fuse. A low-pass filter can be added to significantly lower the let-through voltage of the device for short-duration pulses, and help to spread the energy to more effectively utilize the transient voltage suppressor.

    Abstract: First and second output transistors are connected in series between a power supply terminal and a ground terminal through an output node connected to an output terminal.
