    摘要: The X-ray tube disclosed herein includes an electron emission part including an electron emission element using a cold cathode; an anode part having an anode surface with which an electron emitted from the electron emission part collides; and a focusing structure disposed between the electron emission part and a target part disposed on the anode surface. The focusing structure has a plurality of focal point areas that are applied with a voltage in a mutually independent manner. The electron emission part has first and second electron beam emission areas that are on/off controlled in a mutually independent manner. The X-ray tube is designed in such a way that a collision area of the electron beam emitted from each of the first and second electron beam emission areas on the anode surface moves in response to a voltage applied to the focusing structure.

    摘要: Disclosed is a radiation logging tool, comprising a tool housing; a compact generator that produces radiation; a power supply coupled to the compact generator; and control circuitry. Embodiments of the compact generator comprise a generator vacuum tube comprising a source generating charged particles, and a target onto which the charged particles are directed; and a high voltage supply comprising a high voltage multiplier ladder located laterally adjacent to the generator vacuum tube. The high voltage supply applies a high voltage between the source and the target to accelerate the charged particles to a predetermined energy level. The compact generator also includes an electrical coupling between an output of the high voltage supply and the target of the generator vacuum tube to accommodate the collocated positions of the generator vacuum tube and the high voltage power supply.

The first electrode has a first side wall surrounding the distal end portion. The second electrode has a second side wall separated from the first side wall and surrounding the first side wall. The first side wall is provided with a first opening portion allowing a first space surrounded by the first side wall and a second space between the first side wall and the second side wall to communicate with each other. The second electrode is provided with a second opening portion opening in the direction along the emission axis such that the second space and an external space communicate with each other.

    摘要: In the present invention, a cathode is formed with one or more emitters energized to emit electrons that are accelerated towards an anode or target spaced from the cathode. Between the cathode and the target is disposed an ion barrier electrode defining an aperture therein disposed in alignment with the emitters to enable the electron beam to pass through the electrode. The barrier electrode is operably connected to a voltage supply to positively bias the barrier electrode, and the barrier electrode is shaped to minimize the required supply voltage. This positive voltage bias creates a positive potential barrier across the electrode sufficient to repel positive ions generated by the electron beam, protecting the cathode from contact with the ions and increasing the stability of the focal spot generated by the tube by maintaining the ions within the drift region between the ion barrier and the target.

It is described to produce (210) with a power supply (40) at least two voltages between at least one cathode (20) and an anode (30), wherein the at least two voltages comprises a first voltage and a second voltage. The at least one cathode is positioned relative to the anode. Electrons are emitted (220) from the at least one cathode. Electrons emitted from the at least one cathode are interacted (230) with the anode with energies corresponding to the at least two voltages. X-rays are generated (230) from the anode, wherein the electrons interact with the anode to generate the X-rays. First X-rays are generated when the power supply produces the first voltage and second X-rays are generated when the power supply produces the second voltage. The power supply is controlled (250), such that a ratio between the first X-rays and the second X-rays is controllable.
