    摘要: An improved protected graphics assembly according to the invention comprises the following sequential layers: optionally, at least one adhesive layer; at least one graphics layer; and at least one outwardly exposed polymer layer that is essentially free of low surface energy materials and has a gloss value of greater than 90 when tested according to ASTM D2457-03 at a 60-degree angle. The assembly is beneficially applied to a variety of articles and used in a variety of related methods. In an exemplary embodiment, a race car comprises a protected graphics assembly that comprises: optionally, at least one adhesive layer; at least one outwardly exposed polymer layer that is essentially free of low surface energy materials; and at least one graphics layer substantially protected from exterior exposure by the polymer layer.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for conforming a display panel to a surface of an aircraft structure. The method positions the display panel within a resin barrier that is located on the surface such that a cavity is formed, places a film and the display panel together, and applies a force on the display panel that causes the display panel to conform to the surface of the aircraft structure. The display panel has a shape that changes to a first shape to match a second shape of the surface of the aircraft structure. The method also injects a resin into the cavity while the force is applied, and cures the resin in the cavity while the force is applied to form a cured resin. The cured resin holds the display panel in the first shape and attaches the display panel to the surface of the aircraft structure.

    摘要: Embodiments of the present invention provide improved systems and methods for providing a virtual terrain display. In one embodiment, a method comprises identifying a location within an enclosure. The location is referenced against an external environment containing the enclosure. The method also comprises identifying a portion of a structure of the enclosure. The portion of the structure exists between the location and the external environment and blocks a view of the external environment. The method also comprises generating a display depicting a view of the external environment from the location; and applying a translucent structure representation to the display. The structure representation is a visual depiction of the portion of the structure and appearing in front of the depicted view without blocking the depicted view of the external environment.

    摘要: A tethered airborne advertising system comprises a lifting element and a separate display structure. The lifting element includes, for example, one or more kites or lighter-than-air balloons. The display structure is lifted primarily by the lifting element, exhibits one or more advertising images and may have one or more attention-getting devices affixed to it. In certain embodiments, operation of these advertising images and attention-getting devices can be controlled remotely by way of a signal transmitter and signal receiver. Particular embodiments place the advertising images onto the display structure by way of a ground-based or onboard projector subsystem. The mounted attention-getting devises may include those capable of generating smoke, sound, music, dynamic images, or releasing environmentally friendly confetti or advertising fliers.
