摘要: A clampless synthetic jet actuator includes a cavity layer having an internal cavity for reception of a fluid volume and an orifice providing a fluid communication between the cavity and an external atmosphere; and an oscillatory membrane having a piezoelectric material adapted to deflect the oscillatory membrane in response to an electrical signal. The cavity has an opening in at least one planar surface of the cavity layer, and the cavity layer and the oscillatory membrane are joined by a high strength, low shear modulus adhesive material with the oscillatory membrane positioned adjacent to the planar surface having the cavity opening and adapted as an enclosing surface to said cavity opening. The oscillatory membrane is adapted to compress and expand a volume within the cavity, based on a deflection generated by the piezoelectric material, for generating a fluid flow between the cavity and the external atmosphere through the orifice.

摘要: In an embodiment, the present disclosure pertains to a cavitation generation device that includes a dactyl plunger rotatable about an axis between an open position and a closed position and a propus socket having a channel. The propus socket is rigidly mounted below the dactyl plunger, and the dactyl plunger is received into the propus socket when the dactyl plunger is in the closed position. The cavitation generation device can also include a torsion spring that biases the dactyl plunger into contact with the propus socket. In another embodiment, the present disclosure pertains to a method of inducing a cavitation including biasing a dactyl plunger via a torsion spring, and rotating the dactyl plunger, by action of the torsion spring, into a propus socket. The propus socket includes a nozzle-shaped channel. The method further includes ejecting a socket cavity volume through the nozzle-shaped channel thereby inducing a cavitation event.

摘要: A coating apparatus for the reduction of aerodynamic noise and vibrations. The coating apparatus is configured to include a group of fibrillar structures, wherein each fibrillar structure is configured with a diverging tip so that the coating reduces the size of and shifts downstream, a separation bubble, and modulates large-scale recirculating motion. Each fibrillar structure can be configured as a cylindrical micropillar. The group of fibrillar structures can be configured as a group of uniformly distributed cylindrical micropillars (e.g., one or more micropillar arrays). The surface coating is effective in reducing the separation bubble and displacing the separation bubble downstream. The coating facilitates a reduction in noise (e.g., aerodynamic noise) and vibrations due to the reduction in the size of the separation bubble.

摘要: A removable passive airflow oscillation device can be disposed within a pressurized wing structure utilized as a plenum. The passive airflow oscillation device can be a removable insert disposed into exterior vehicle surfaces with pressurization of a sealed chamber to provide the airflow. The device can include a cavity configured to receive the airflow from an ingress opening, direct the airflow therethrough to generate a predetermined oscillating airflow, and expel the oscillatory airflow from the egress opening. The removable passive airflow oscillation devices can provide quick and simple replacement and maintenance of damaged or clogged devices. The aft chamber of the flap seal can be sealed and pressurized to serve as a plenum providing the airflow to the actuators. The device can receive airflow, such as compressor air, and expel an oscillating airflow. Because each device is self-contained the number of devices and location thereof can vary by application.

A ventilation hole is formed in a windshield in a penetrating manner; a rectangular plate is mounted on the windshield; the rectangular plate is lifted by means of power provided by a lifting wing disposed thereon, and the height of the rectangular plate when moving upwards exceed the height of an upper edge of a main body portion of the windshield; when wind strength is low, the rectangular plate is located at a lower portion under the action of gravity and shields the ventilation hole; when the wind strength is increased, the lifting wing is blown by an airflow to generate upwards lifting force, and drives the rectangular plate to moved upwardly so as to shield an opening in an upper portion of the windshield and block the airflow.
