摘要: An aircraft propulsion system and computing system are provided. The propulsion system includes a low pressure (LP) spool and a core engine having a high pressure (HP) spool. A frame is positioned in serial flow arrangement between an HP turbine and an LP turbine. The frame includes an inter-turbine burner including a strut forming an outlet opening into a core flowpath of the propulsion system. A first fuel system is configured to flow a liquid fuel to a combustion section for generating first combustion gases. A second fuel system is configured to flow a gaseous fuel to the core flowpath via the inter-turbine burner for generating second combustion gases. The propulsion system forms a rated power output ratio of the core engine and the inter-turbine burner with the LP spool between 1.5 and 5.7.

摘要: A control device for adjusting an amount of fuel to be supplied to a gas turbine based on a rotational speed of the gas turbine, such that a frequency of electric power output by a power generator that generates electric power using the gas turbine is within a given range, includes a load value acquisition unit configured to acquire a load value that is a value of a load applied to the power generator after cutoff of a part of the load applied to the power generator when the part of the load applied to the power generator is cut off, an arithmetic unit configured to calculate an adjusted value that is a value of the load different from the load value by carrying out an arithmetic operation on the load value and a bias, and a command unit configured to adjust the amount of fuel by outputting a first signal for causing the power generator to output electric power corresponding to the adjusted value.

摘要: Provided is an apparatus for generating electricity comprising a gas propellant chamber, a containment vessel, and a rotor/stator assembly partially integrated within the containment vessel. The gas propellant chamber is disposed within the containment vessel and comprises a compressor, a nuclear fuel chamber, and a turbine assembly, wherein a drive shaft extending axially through the gas propellant chamber couples the compressor to the turbine assembly. The rotor of the rotor/stator assembly is disposed internally of the containment vessel and is in communication with the stator, the stator being disposed externally of the containment vessel. The apparatus thereby provides a simpler and safer design that is both scalable and adaptable. The apparatus is easily and safely transportable and can be designed to be highly nuclear-proliferation-resistant.

摘要: A combustor is configured to operate in a rotating detonation mode and a deflagration mode. The combustor includes a housing and at least one initiator. The housing defines at least one combustion chamber and is configured for a deflagration process to occur within the at least one combustion chamber during operation in the deflagration mode and a rotating detonation process to occur within the at least one combustion chamber during operation in the rotating detonation mode. The at least one initiator is configured to initiate the rotating detonation process within the at least one combustion chamber during operation in the rotating detonation mode and to initiate the deflagration process within the at least one combustion chamber during operation in the deflagration mode.

摘要: A hybrid propulsion system includes a wave rotor combustion engine operating in parallel with an electrical motor-generator element. The motor-generator element is coupled to the turbine shaft to selectively drive or be driven by the turbine shaft. In one mode of operation, the motor of the motor generator element is powered by a battery to provide rotational energy to the turbine shaft. In another mode of operation, the wave rotor combustion engine drives the generator to recharge the battery. The wave rotor combustion engine may be further directly coupled to auxiliary components without a gearbox to drive the components at substantially the same speed as the turbine shaft. The turbine rotor of the combustion engine includes a plurality of chambers defined by circumferentially spaced curved vanes that improves specific fuel consumption for the engine.

摘要: A bladed reactor for pyrolysis of hydrocarbons comprises a rotor with blades that form an axial-flow blade cascade, a fixed torus-shaped hoop that adjoins the tips of the blades, and a housing that encloses the hoop and a rotor periphery so that a passage having a ring shape of its meridian section is formed. One or more partitions are installed in the passage, an inlet port is located directly after each partition while an outlet port is located directly in front of each partition. Nozzle vanes forming a nozzle cascade are installed upstream of the blade cascade, and diffusing vanes forming a diffusing cascade are installed downstream of the blade cascade. There is a vaneless space between the exit from the diffusing cascade and the entry into the nozzle cascade. A group of nozzle vanes arranged directly after each partition may be separated off from the remaining nozzle vanes by a bulkhead so that a channel is formed which connects the corresponding inlet port with separated group of nozzle vanes to simplify the reactor starting.
