    Abstract: A support stand for supporting a volumetric modular unit above the ground is disclosed. The support stand includes a top portion with a top surface for contacting and supporting an underside of the modular unit above the ground. A bottom portion with a bottom surface supports the top portion at an elevation above the ground against the underside of the modular unit. An elevating portion has a top side connected to the top portion, a bottom side connected to the bottom portion, and an elevating span between the top side and the bottom side. A pad is connected to the bottom portion. The pad has a bottom surface for contacting and supporting the bottom portion against the ground, an inner pad perimeter and an outer pad perimeter. The top surface is parallel with the bottom surface. The underside and weight of the modular unit is supported on the top surface.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for providing an underground barrier for a water flow. The method includes the steps of drilling in soil a number of parallel vertical holes; inserting pipe strings into the drilled holes, where each pipe string has a pipe string wall with a plurality of openings arranged distributed along the length of the pipe string; introducing injector means in each of the pipe strings; positioning the injector means at a plurality of discrete depths in the respective pipe string and aligned at each depth with at least one of the openings in the pipe string wall; and injecting at each discrete depth a sealing compound, such as sodium silicate, through the at least one aligned opening into the soil.

    Abstract: An underwater pile foundation comprises a pump in fluid communication with an internal chamber of the pile to pump water out of or into the chamber. This reduces or increases the pressure of water in the chamber relative to ambient pressure of water outside the chamber during installation or removal of the pile. While that pumping phase is ongoing, and potentially before or after that pumping phase, a pressure variator in fluid communication with the chamber imparts oscillations in the pressure of the water in the chamber. The resulting pressure waves in water within the chamber reduce resistance to movement of the pile relative to soil in which the pile is embedded.

    Abstract: A wall supporting system for supporting a foundation wall against forces applied externally to the wall comprises a support beam having a bottom end and a top end, a floor bracket adapted to maintain the bottom end of the support beam adjacent the wall, and an upper bracket. The upper bracket comprises a main plate facing the wall, and an internally threaded passage opening into said main plate and defining an axis generally perpendicular to the main plate, a torque bolt threadably received in the internally threaded passage, and a beam connector at an end of the torque bolt, wherein the beam connector is adapted to be generally rotationally fixed relative to support beam while the torque bolt can rotate relative to the beam connector, such that advancement of the torque bolt will advance the beam connector to urge the support beam into a compressive relationship with the wall.

    Abstract: A lining tube for restoring a defective sewer shaft has an inner film tube and a radially expandable tubular layer of fiber material impregnated with a curable reaction resin. The inner film tube has a connecting portion that connects two circumferential portions, to a circurmferentially closed inner film tube with a defined nominal diameter. The connecting portion has a predetermined breaking point that can be separated in the circumferential direction by introducing a pressure medium into the inner film tube in order to radially expand the inner film tube and the layer of fibrous material beyond the nominal diameter. The tubular layer of fiber material is closed by a seam at a first end that can be introduced into a channel of the sewer shaft. The seam extends orthogonally to the longitudinal axis of the tubular layer of fiber material of the lining tube.
