摘要: An inundated area dividing unit divides an inundated area into one or more divided areas based on a boundary indicated in inundation estimation data indicating the boundary where a water level changes when inundation occurs. For each of the one or more divided areas, a water level calculation unit calculates the water level in a subject divided area, from an elevation of a boundary area of the subject divided area. A depth calculation unit calculates a flood depth at a subject point, from the elevation at the subject point and the water level in the divided area including the subject point.

摘要: A system for displaying contextually-sensitive braking information on a surface of a vehicle is presented. The system may include a transceiver, one or more memories, an electronic display disposed on the surface, and one or more processors. The one or more processors may be configured to detect a braking event of the vehicle, wherein the braking event has an associated braking force. The one or more processors may compare the braking force to a predetermined threshold braking force to determine whether the braking force exceeds the threshold braking force. The one or more processors may further cause the electronic display to display a braking indication having an intensity that is proportional to the braking force, wherein the braking indication may include a braking rationale corresponding to the braking event in response to determining that the braking force exceeds the threshold braking force.

摘要: A system configured to provide output indicative of crop spraying conditions in an agricultural region, the system including: an input configured to receive data from at least one monitoring physical tower, wherein the physical tower extends from ground level in the agricultural region, wherein the tower includes one or more anemometers configured to measure respective wind speeds at one or more predetermined heights above the ground level; a processor which is configured to process periodic values of respective wind speeds at the one or more predetermined heights above the ground level, thereby to derive a real-time measure representative of a local vertical turbulence characteristic for the location of the monitoring tower, wherein the real-time measure representative of a local vertical turbulence characteristic for the location of the monitoring tower is based on a standard deviation of vertical wind speed; and an output device which is configured to provide the output indicative of crop spraying conditions based on a comparison between: (i) the real-time measure representative of the local vertical turbulence characteristic; and (ii) one or more predetermined threshold values.

摘要: A communication system uses skywave propagation to transmit data between communication nodes over a data transmission path. An atmospheric sensor is configured to collect atmospheric data at the reflection point of the data transmission path where the transmission path is redirected from the atmosphere toward the surface of the Earth. Data collected by the atmospheric sensor may be used to predict future ionospheric conditions and determine optimum working frequencies for transmission of data between the communication nodes.

摘要: In an example, a method is described. The method includes causing one or more sensors arranged on an aircraft to acquire, over a window of time, first data associated with a first object that is within an environment of the aircraft, where the one or more sensors include one or more of a light detection and ranging (LIDAR) sensor, a radar sensor, or a camera, causing an array of microphones arranged on the aircraft to acquire, over approximately the same window of time as the first data is acquired, first acoustic data associated with the first object, and training a machine learning model by using the first acoustic data as an input value to the machine learning model and by using an azimuth, a range, an elevation, and a type of the first object identified from the first data as ground truth output labels for the machine learning model.

摘要: In a snow accretion test method, a snow accumulation step of accumulating snow on a specimen, and a snow accretion step of freezing snow accumulated on the specimen in a state where snow is not supplied to the specimen are performed. The snow accumulation step and the snow accretion step are repeatedly performed. In the snow accretion step, the ambient temperature of the specimen is adjusted to a temperature lower than the ambient temperature in the snow accumulation step.

摘要: Systems and methods for estimating current roof conditions and potential underwriting risk using insurance claim data. Historical claims for confirmed weather-damaged homes may be clustered by claims stemming from one or more weather events to determine potential areas where damage has occurred, but a claim has not yet been filed. In certain implementation, claims for weather-related vehicle damage may be utilized to predict weather-related roof damage.

摘要: Disclosed embodiments include systems, vehicles, and methods for presenting weather conditions a traveler may encounter while traveling a route. In an illustrative embodiment, a computing device executes instructions to present an integrated route map. An input is received indicative of a trip to be made to a destination by a traveler. A store of route data for an area encompassing the trip is accessed. At least one route is identified. A weather forecasting service is accessed from which expected weather conditions are accessible for the area through the projected time. The expected weather conditions are identified for the location at the projected time. An integrated route map is displayed showing the at least one route and the expected weather conditions for the location at the projected time.

摘要: A method for quantifying the extent and recurrence of a predetermined natural event, such as a flooding event, in a geographical area, in particular in spite of the absence of reliable data from sensors on the ground where the natural event develops. The method relies on remote sensing data, such as satellite imagery, and data processing, and reaps the benefits of computational models based on accurate remote sensing of the area under consideration.

摘要: A device is specified for ascertaining a movement corridor for lightweight aircraft. The device includes a first interface, a second interface, and a processing unit. The first interface is configured to receive aircraft data relating to the lightweight aircraft, wherein the aircraft data at least contain flight properties and functions of the lightweight aircraft. The second interface is configured to receive weather data from a weather information source, wherein the weather data contain weather predictions and also current weather data and contain at least air movements in an altitude profile between a maximum altitude of the lightweight aircraft and the Earth's surface. The processing unit is configured to compare the aircraft data to the weather data and to ascertain a probable movement corridor of the aircraft.
