Abstract: A multi-layer coating system includes: a first coating layer formed from a first coating composition including: a film forming resin; and a fluorescent and/or phosphorescent pigment that: (1) emits radiation at an emission wavelength in the range of from 400-1200 nanometers when excited by ultraviolet and/or visible radiation corresponding to an excitation wavelength of the fluorescent and/or phosphorescent pigment; and/or (2) emits radiation at an emission wavelength in the range of from 600-2500 nanometers when excited by visible and/or near infrared radiation corresponding to an excitation wavelength of the fluorescent and/or phosphorescent pigment; and a second coating layer disposed over at least a portion of the first coating layer, which is formed from a second coating composition including: a film forming resin; and a pigment that blocks radiation corresponding to the excitation and/or emission wavelength of the fluorescent and/or phosphorescent pigment in the first coating layer.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to polyurethane-based coating materials and coatings and coated products made therewith. In one aspect of the disclosure, an aqueous coating composition includes water, and, dispersed in the water, a functionalized anionic polyurethane present in an amount in the range of 20-80 wt % of the composition on a dry solids basis; a water-insoluble transition metal crosslinking agent present in an amount in the range of 0.5-30 wt % of the composition on a dry solids basis; and a pseudoplastic thickener in an amount in the range of 0.02 wt % to 4 wt % on a dry solids basis; and at least one colorant (e.g., a near-infrared reflective pigment) present in an amount in the range of 0.2 wt % to 40 wt % on a dry solids basis.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides an extrudable article and a composition, each including at least one polyurethane including hydroxyl groups and latent isocyanate groups in the form of uretdione groups. The hydroxyl groups are present on a first polyurethane and the latent isocyanate groups are present on either the first polyurethane or a second polyurethane and a ratio of the latent isocyanate groups to the hydroxyl groups is greater than 1.2:1. A method of making the extrudable article is provided including reacting in an extruder a polymerizable composition including a uretdione-containing material including a reaction product of a diisocyanate reacted with itself, a hydroxyl-containing compound, and an isocyanate-containing compound. A method of making a core-sheath filament is provided including forming a core composition of the at least one polyurethane and wrapping a sheath composition including an ethylene copolymer or a polyolefin around the core composition. Further, methods of printing a composition are provided including heating and mixing the extrudable article, such as in an extruder, to form a molten composition, then dispensing the molten composition through a nozzle onto a substrate.

The laminated film for forming an inorganic thin film layer, includes a substrate layer mainly composed of a polypropylene-based resin; and a coating layer laminated on at least one surface of the substrate layer, wherein (I) the laminated film has a heating elongation rate at 130° C. of 10% or less in both MD and TD directions, (II) a total of a maximum peak height (Rp) and maximum valley depth (Rv) of the coating layer-side surface measured with a scanning probe microscope is 30.0 nm or less, and (III) an amount of adhesion of the coating layer is 0.10-0.50 g/m2.
