摘要: A biogas treatment process is integrated with a water treatment process to adjust the pH level of the water and to provide more effective disinfection of the water. A water wash process is utilized to separate methane and carbon dioxide present in the biogas. During the water wash process, the biogas is mixed with water and the carbon dioxide is absorbed into the water. Because the process typically occurs at an elevated pressure and reduced temperature to enhance the solubility of carbon dioxide in water, the water stream becomes supersaturated with carbon dioxide. This water stream, which is supersaturated with carbon dioxide, is provided to the water treatment process to adjust the pH level of the water treatment process. The pH level is regulated to a desired level such that an increased relative concentration of hypochlorous acid is produced when sodium hypochlorite is added to the treatment process.

摘要: The purpose is to provide a pure water production method and apparatus, which make it possible to prevent the increase in an ion load during a pure water production process, improve the efficiency of a biological treatment and reduce the generation amount of pulverized coal in a method for treating oxidation-treated water in which urea is oxidized and decomposed with a hypohalous acid with biological activated carbon. Provided is a pure water production method including: for adding a hypohalous acid to urea-containing water of interest and performing an oxidation treatment of the urea in an oxidation treatment apparatus; and measuring the concentration of residual chlorine in the oxidation-treated water, then adding hydrogen peroxide to the oxidation-treated water depending on the measured concentration of the residual chlorine, and then performing a biological treatment of the hydrogen peroxide-added water with biological activated carbon in a biological treatment apparatus.

摘要: A floating dispenser having an external float or an internal float for supporting a cartridge or cartridges for floatingly delivering a dispersant or dispersants to a body of water with the floating dispenser having cartridges rotationally positionable with respect to one another to control the rate of dispensing while the dispenser floats in an upright condition with the floating dispenser changing its flotation orientation in response to consumption of the dispersant or dispersants in the a cartridge to thereby provide a visual alert to replace a spent cartridge with a fresh cartridge. In addition the inventions described herein permit changing the dispensing nature of the system from a multiple dispensing system to a single dispensing system without changing the floating characteristics of the floating dispensers through replacement of a dispersant in one of the cartridges with an inert or ballast material that has no effect on the water characteristics.

摘要: As an example embodiment, a system may detect water flow in a well water system and may responsively trigger a pump to inject a chlorinating substance into untreated water from the well. Further, the system may include a contact reservoir that allows the water and the chlorinating substance to combine. In this way, the chlorinating substance is drawn only when needed, but is given the opportunity to achieve time in solution with the untreated water. As a result, bacteria in untreated water may be dispatched, while other organic substances in the untreated water are given the opportunity to settle to the bottom of the contact reservoir. A static mixer may be used to mix the chlorinating substance and the untreated water prior to entering the contact reservoir and/or while in the contact reservoir.

摘要: Systems and methods that enable the responsive treatment of a body of water with an aqueous halogen solution whose composition can be varied as a result of input from sensors monitoring the water being treated. Various sensors are immersed in the water so that the physical, chemical, and microbiological properties of a body of water being treated can be measured. Information from these sensors is used to produce aqueous halogen solutions of varying composition which are then injected into the body of water being monitored for the purposes of ensuring the body of water being treated is being effectively disinfected.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to the technical field of wastewater treatment in oil and gas field operations, in particular to a method for synergistic degradation treatment of polysaccharide-containing polymer wastewater by controllable —OH radical. In this method, a ferrous ion solution, an alkaline solution, and an oxidant solution are mixed and heated to generate —OH radicals, —O radicals and polymeric iron ions, etc., which then is mixed with polysaccharide-containing polymer wastewater. The generated highly oxidative —OH radicals and —O radicals react with polysaccharide polymers so that they are degraded. The generated polymeric iron ions form flocs that purify the suspended solids in the wastewater. The purified polysaccharide-containing polymer wastewater can be re-injected or reused as an oilfield working fluid. In the present disclosure, the polysaccharide-containing polymer wastewater can be treated in a quick and efficient manner, and the treated wastewater can be recycled.

摘要: A method of automatically controlling chloramine concentration in a body of water contained in a reservoir includes: (a) determining residual chloramine concentration in a water sample obtained from the body of water; (b) determining at least one of the following when the residual chloramine concentration is below a predetermined target chloramine concentration level: (i) an average rate of change in total chlorine concentration; and (ii) an average rate of change in oxidation-reduction potential; and (c) automatically engaging a supply of ammonia and a supply of chlorine to add both ammonia and chlorine to the body of water at a weight ratio of chlorine to ammonia of 5:1 or less when the average rate of change in total chlorine concentration is below a set rate of change and/or the average rate of change in oxidation-reduction potential is above a set rate of change.

摘要: Methods and systems integrate direct carbon capture and desalination processes to various degrees, benefiting from synergies in the combined processes. A method includes receiving an input liquid comprising a brine reject stream from a water treatment facility and pre-treating the input liquid. The pre-treatment includes one or more of filtration, a reverse osmosis, and ion exchange. The method also includes performing an electrochemical process on the input liquid to produce at least one hydroxide-rich stream and capturing CO2 from air using the hydroxide-rich stream and a passive air capture system, thereby producing a liquid carbonate solution containing air-captured CO2. In some cases byproducts and recovered water can be used by the water treatment facility and/or the carbon capture process.
