Abstract:
A forming tool includes at least one first die half where the first die half has an insert part which is designed to move a finished component out of the first die half along a direction of motion where a displacement direction of the insert part is inclined relative to the direction of motion.
Abstract:
A machine can form a work piece into a bowl subcomponent of a steel pan musical instrument. The machine includes a pressure lid and a die mold. The die mold may be formed of non-metal layers stacked between metal layers. In example operation, a blank or work piece is inserted between the lid and die mold. The lid is pressed down (e.g., by a hydraulic ram), forcing a portion of the blank into a face groove of the die mold for sealing. Pressurized water or other fluid introduced between the lid and the blank exerts pressure on the sealed portion of the blank and stretches the blank to conform to a bowl shape of the die mold. Note regions can be introduced by this machine-performed shaping and/or by subsequent manual operations to further prepare the work piece for incorporation into a steel pan musical instrument.
Abstract:
A multi-forming device is disclosed. A multi-forming device according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention may include: a lower mold die; a lower mold that is disposed at a center upper surface of the lower mold die, in which a gas passage is formed in an up-and-down direction to receive a shaping gas from an outside gas supplier device, in which a lower mold surface is formed at an upper surface thereof, and in which a plurality of heating cartridges are disposed therein along the lower surface thereof; an upper mold that is disposed on an upper side slider to be moved in an up-and-down direction corresponding to the lower mold, in which an upper mold surface is formed at a lower surface corresponding to the lower mold, in which an upper mold face is formed at a circumference of the upper mold surface, and in which a plurality of heating cartridges are disposed along the upper mold surface; a blank holder through which the lower mold is inserted and that is disposed to move in an up-and-down direction through a cushion spring on the lower mold die, and in which a holder face is formed to grasp a material together with the upper mold face at an early stage of a forming process; an inner gas pipe that is disposed in a gas passage of the lower mold; and a switch valve that switches supply passages of the shaping gas that is supplied to the inner gas pipe and the gas passage.
Abstract:
The invention refers to a method and a press tool for manufacturing of a separating disk adapted to be included in a disk package of a centrifugal separator. The separating disk extends around an axis of rotation and has tapering shape with an inner surface and an outer surface along the axis of rotation. The separating disk is manufactured of a material and comprises a number of distance members in form of pressed protrusions extending away from the inner surface and/or outer surface. A blank of the material is pressed against the first tool part having a shape corresponding to the tapering shape of the pressed separating disk and comprises first form elements having a shape corresponding to the protrusions.
Abstract:
A non-cylindrical pressure vessel storage tank is disclosed. The storage tank includes an internal structure. The internal structure is coupled to at least one wall of the storage tank. The internal structure shapes and internally supports the storage tank. The pressure vessel storage tank has a conformability of about 0.8 to about 1.0. The internal structure can be, but is not limited to, a Schwarz-P structure, an egg-crate shaped structure, or carbon fiber ligament structure.
Abstract:
A forming tool apparatus is provided for forming an article having a negative draft angle that locks the formed article within the forming tool. An insert, which is disposed within a recess defined in a forming surface of the forming tool, has a surface that cooperates with the forming surface of the forming tool to shape a metal blank into a desired final shape. In particular, the surface of the insert is shaped to define the negative draft angle feature of the formed article. Subsequent to forming the article, a linear-drive mechanism is activated to withdraw the insert away from the formed article, and thereby unlock the formed article from the tool. The formed article is then extracted from the tool along an extraction direction that is other than parallel to the direction along which the insert is driven.
Abstract:
A sheet metal blank positioned upon a lower die is wrapped around an upper die as the upper die is moved down to a closed position by an outer slide, the blank being clamped between the upper and lower dies whereby the periphery of the blank is gripped between a male and female bead mounted all around a part print cavity in the upper and lower dies, respectively. The outer slide then dwells while an inner slide moves down, engaging and actuating cylinder assemblies, causing hydraulic fluid to be forced into a region between the clamped blank and the lower die, the blank being formed into a part print cavity defined in the upper die. The male bead exerts varying control on the sheet to allow it to stretch across portions of the cavity while flowing into other portions of the cavity. A locking mechanism prevents the bending of the dies and holds the dies in a closed position thereby assisting the engagement of the male bead with the female bead. As a safety feature, the mechanism is configured to automatically open when the die cavity is moved up. The locking mechanism allows the use of high pressures to make large parts, such as car hoods, doors, deck lids, and quarter panels in conventional currently available double action presses.
Abstract:
A watch dial having a dial plate with integrally formed raised symbols, the dial plate having a substantially homogeneously appearing background surface and the raised symbols having a top face and side surfaces which form sharp corners with the top face such that the raised symbols have a substantially different appearance from the dial plate background surface.
