Abstract: Methods for gradually exposing a subject to a fear comprising: adapting a virtual reality scenario to expose the subject to the fear by gradually transforming one or more of objects from a first state to a second state, the second state of the object provoking an increase of the fear, and wherein the transforming one or more of the objects take place only if the following two conditions are fulfilled: a time condition specifying an amount of time from the previous increase of fear, and the object is in a peripheral field of vision of the subject as derived from the orientation of the head mounted device. A computer program and computing systems for gradually exposing a subject to a fear are also disclosed.

Abstract: A system for collecting bioinformatic data includes an array of micro/nano electro-mechanical system (MEMS/NEMS) sensors arranged on an article such that the array of MEMS/NEMS sensors are positioned within an acceptable range of a gas source of a subject. Each MEMS/NEMS sensor is configured to generate a signal based on a concentration of one or more gaseous biomarkers within a gas emitted from the subject. The system includes a preprocessor coupled with the array of MEMS/NEMS sensors and configured to generate one or more indicators based on the signal from each of a plurality of the MEMS/NEMS sensors. The system includes a computing device comprising one or more memories storing computer-executable instructions and one or more processors, individually or in combination, configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to cause the computing device to apply the one or more indicators to a model to output a health status of the subject.

Abstract: In embodiments, a Wearable Cardiac Defibrillator (WCD) system is configured to be worn by an ambulatory patient. The WCD system includes a main user interface (UI) output device that can output an image, sound or vibration as a main message about a condition of the patient or the WCD system. The patient may further carry a peripheral device that can also output an image, sound or vibration as a peripheral message about the condition. The peripheral message may mirror the main message at least in part, amplify it, and so on. The availability of the peripheral message provides the patient with the opportunity to better perceive the main message, and the flexibility to receive and react to it discreetly, learn more about the condition, and so on.

Abstract: A method, comprising receiving a time series of patient body signal, determining first and second sliding time windows for the time series; applying an autoregression algorithm, comprising: applying an autoregression analysis to each of the first and second windows, yielding autoregression coefficients and a residual variance for each window; estimating a parameter vector for each window based on the autoregression coefficients and residual variances; and determining a difference between the parameter vectors; and determining seizure onset and seizure termination based on the difference between the parameter vectors. A non-transitory computer readable program storage unit encoded with instructions that, when executed by a computer, perform the method.

Abstract: The disclosed system relates to the diagnosis and correction of autonomic nervous system imbalance through the recognition and improvement of parasympathetic tone of a user using paced breathing and vibratory neuromodulation. The system includes a wearable IBI detector, software for analyzing PSD data and determining recommended therapy, a vibratory stimulator, and optional smart phone guidance. The IBI detector reads the pulsatile waveform to produce IBI data that is used to compute PSD data. The PSD data is analyzed for ANS imbalance indicators and therapy is recommended based on continuously updated information stored in a database. Results from application of recommended therapy are stored and shared and can be used to build a personalized training regime to strengthen parasympathetic tone.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (10) for monitoring a physiological state and/or a mental state and/or an emotional state of a user and providing a personalized breathing exercise to the user, the system including a physiological monitoring device (12) configured to detect a physiological parameter of the user and a breathing monitoring device (14) configured to detect a breathing parameter of the user. The system (10) is configured to determine a target physiological index based at least on the detected physiological parameter, determine a target breathing exercise to be executed by the user based at least on the target physiological index, determine a target breathing index to be achieved by the user during execution of the breathing exercise, compare the target breathing index with the breathing parameter, which is detectable as the user is executing the breathing exercise, and determine a deviation therebetween, and adapt the target breathing exercise based at least on the determined deviation. The invention also relates to a method and a monitoring program for executing the method.
