Abstract:
A telecommunications network (120) is provided with adaptive gain control (AGC) of the voice signals in network (120). Network (120) includes an input (12) for receiving a voice signal, an output (14) for receiving the voice signal, and a coupling between input (12) and output (14) including at least one switch (124) or (126). Network (120) also includes voice enhancer (10) including power averager (18) for measuring and determining the average power of an input signal. Voice enhancer (10) also includes bass band equalizer (16) to attenuate a predetermined portion of the input signal to provide an equalized input signal. From the average power of the input signal is determined a scaling factor from a gain/attenuation look-up table (28). Voice enhancer (10) also includes output scaler (30) coupled to output (14), output scaler (30) scales the equalized input signal with the scaling factor and provides the scaled signal to output (14). Voice enhancer (10) also includes bass to treble power comparator (20) for detecting tandem enhancement and voice-band data detector (22) which cause enhancer (10) to be disabled appropriately.
Abstract:
A control unit of a subscriber line termination module has access via a programmable interface to the transmitting and receiving arms of a time division multiplex line connected to the switching network. At intervals which are long in relation to the pulse frame length, during the course of existing connections, PCM-words which occur N-times on the receiving arm and, in each case following a reflection time, during a plurality of pulse frames, a plurality of PCM-words occurring on the transmitting arm are received, subjected to amplitude evaluation and, if recognized as valid, subjected to cross-correlation. The result of the cross-correlation provides a control value for the dummy impedance.
Abstract:
A switching matrix utilizing connection modules, for the connection of peripherally arranged electrical measuring devices, over selectable lines of a line group specifically associated with a matrix, to the peripheral terminals of specimens to be measured, such as electrical components, circuit board, assemblies, communication devices and the like, wherein the connection modules are designed with two poles, each of which is selectively connectable to a respective peripheral terminal of a specimen or a device over controllable switching means, and further controllable switching means for selectively connecting the first pole of a connection module to the second pole thereof at the matrix side of the first mentioned switching means associated with such second pole, in the event said last mentioned switching means is open, each of such poles providing access from such a terminal to separate line subgroups, from which a line is then selected over additional controllable switching means.

Abstract:
An adaptive equalizer for a twisted pair telephone line comprises a differential input/output amplifier, with the line connected to its positive input via a resistor and DC blocking capacitors. The junction of these capacitors is grounded via an adjustable impedance. The amplifier has a feedback loop with another adjustable impedance also connected to the negative input of the amplifier. Line impedance variations vary the impedance of both of the adjustable impedances, which, include diodes to separately compensate for the line's attenuation and frequency characteristics.
Abstract:
A switch unit, which is connected to one or more computers and one or more storage systems, comprises an update function for updating transfer management information (a routing table, for example). The storage system has a function for adding a virtual port to a physical port. The storage system migrates the virtual port addition destination from a first physical port to a second physical port and transmits a request of a predetermined type which includes identification information on the virtual port of the migration target to the switch unit. The transfer management information is updated by the update function of the switch unit so that the transfer destination which corresponds with the migration target virtual port is the switch port connected to the second physical port.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for connecting a phone call during a Push To Talk (PTT) call traffic in a mobile communication system. The method comprises the steps of searching for a subscriber information of a selected current subscriber from both a PTT subscriber information and a subscriber group list, if a predetermined phone call key has been input; determining if the subscriber information of the selected current subscriber which has been searched from the PTT subscriber information and the subscriber group list is matched to a subscriber information stored in an address registry to confirm the matched subscriber information of the address registry; and terminating the PTT session of the PTT call traffic, connecting the phone call to the selected current subscriber's phone number based on the matched subscriber information of the address registry to perform the phone call traffic.
Abstract:
A station interface for a digital electronic telephone switching system is disclosed. The station interface couples a plurality of digital telephone instruments to a digital data bus having PCM encoded signals representative of analog voice signals time-division multiplexed thereon. The station interface enables two way communication between the telephone instruments and the digital data bus and includes a frame store memory for temporarily storing digital data on the data bus and assigning the digital data to system time slots. The output of the frame store memory is selectively supplied under microprocessor control to a digital audio processor which processes the PCM encoded voice signals from the telephone stations and supplies these signals to the audio processor. The audio processor digitally processes both the selected data from the frame store memory and the data from the telephone stations forwarded by a multiplexer, in respective system time slots, under microprocessor control. The PCM encoded signals are gain modified under the control of the microprocessor by the audio processor. The microprocessor monitors accumulated values of the energy of the voice signals originating at the telephone stations and those being forwarded to the telephone stations to dynamically alter the gain levels of the voice signals. In this way, differences in gain levels between signals originating from different sources, e.g. internal telephone stations or trunk lines, can be compensated. The station interface has particular application in controlling hands-free telephone station operation.
