摘要: A signal modulator for modulating at least one input signal is disclosed. The modulator includes an adaptive ramp generator receiving a clock signal having a clock cycle. The adaptive ramp generator provides a ramp signal having a profile starting from a minimum level adjusted in each clock cycle. The signal modulator may receive a first, second, and third input signal, and a clock signal. The first and second input signals may derive from a single signal where the second signal is equal to the first signal shifted by 180 degrees,. The third signal may be a fixed level that sets the nominal duty cycle of the modulator. The input signal having the highest amplitude among the first, second, and third input signals is identified. The minimum level of the ramp signal is adjusted, and the peak value of the ramp maintained substantially equal to the signal having the highest amplitude.

摘要: In described examples, a method of inductive coupled communications includes providing a first resonant tank (first tank) and a second resonant tank (second tank) tuned to essentially the same resonant frequency, each having antenna coils and switches positioned for changing a Q and a bandwidth of their tank. The antenna coils are separated by a distance that provides near-field communications. The first tank is driven to for generating induced oscillations to transmit a predetermined number of carrier frequency cycles providing data. After the predetermined number of cycles, a switch is activated for widening the bandwidth of the first tank. Responsive to the oscillations in the first tank, the second tank begins induced oscillations. Upon detecting a bit associated with the induced oscillations, a switch is activated for widening the bandwidth of the second tank and a receiver circuit receiving an output of the second tank is reset.

摘要: Method, arrangement and computer program product in a base station for transmitting two USF values and two data blocks to a terminal. The base station and the terminal are comprised within a wireless communication network. The two USF values are to be sent across the first data block and the second data block. The first data block and first parts of the two USF values are modulated with a first modulation technique and the second data block and second parts of the two USF values are modulated with a second modulation technique. The modulated data blocks and USF parts are transmitted to the terminal. Further, a method, an arrangement and a computer program product in a terminal for receiving USF values and data blocks from a base station are described. In addition, a method, an arrangement and a computer program product in a control node are described.

摘要: Certain embodiments provide a system for recovering data from at least one signal. The system can include an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and in-phase/quadrature (IQ) generator component that can sample a signal recovered from a communication medium to generate a first signal sample and a second signal sample. A Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) component can process the first signal sample to generate a first signal phase and process the second signal sample to generate a second signal phase. A phase difference calculation component can determine a phase difference between the first signal phase and the second signal phase, determine a bit value represented by the signal based on the phase difference, and output the bit value to an end device coupled to the phase difference calculation component.

摘要: Modulator system (1) comprising modulators (2, 3, 4) for modulating input signals (A) according to different modulation schemes (8PSK, GMSK) cause discontinuities in the output signals (F) when switching between the schemes. By providing the modulator systems (1) with compensators (13, 22-26) for compensating amplitudes/phases of the output signals (F) of the modulator system (1) for discontinuities, these discontinuities resulting from modulation scheme changes are reduced to a large extent. This may be done before/after the pulse shapers (11, 21). The compensators (13, 22-26) comprise multipliers for multiplying pulse shaped modulated signals with complex valued waveforms (E), or for multiplying modulated signals with waveforms (S, T), or for multiplying complex valued signals (B, C, D) with complex valued phase offsets (X, Y, Z), which complex valued signals (B, C, D) are to be multiplied with mapped input signals. As a result, the output signals (F) and/or power amplifiers (33) situated after the modulator system (1) no longer need to be ramped down.

摘要: Aspects of a system for a digital polar transmitter may include a digital to analog converter circuit (DAC), for which an analog voltage and/or current step size generated in response to a sequence of received binary numbers may be dynamically programmable based on an input control signal. The input control signal may be based on an amplitude modulation (AM) signal. The DAC may receive the sequence of binary numbers, generated based on a phase modulation (PM) signal, from an accumulator circuit. The dynamically programmable-step-size DAC may generate an analog signal, which is amplified by a power amplifier circuit (PA) and transmitted via an antenna. The dynamically programmable-step-size DAC may enable utilization of a linear PA circuit.

摘要: A method and apparatus for determining an optimum modulation scheme for a retransmission in a communication system supporting HARQ. When two modulation schemes are available, at an initial transmission, information is modulated in the lower-order modulation scheme if a first MPR is less than a first threshold, and in the higher-order modulation scheme if the first MPR is greater than or equal to the first threshold. Here, an MPR is determined by an EP size, the number of available Walsh codes, and the number of slots per sub-packet that are used for a transmission. To select one of the modulation schemes for a retransmission, a second MPR is calculated using an EP size, the number of available Walsh codes, and the number of slots per sub-packet that are used for the retransmission. If the first MPR is equal to or less than a second threshold greater than the first threshold, the lower-order modulation scheme is selected. If the second MPR is greater than the second threshold, the higher-order modulation scheme is selected.
