    摘要: A two-wire load control device (such as, a dimmer switch) for controlling power delivered from an AC power source to an electrical load (such as, a high-efficiency lighting load) includes a thyristor coupled between the source and the load, a gate coupling circuit coupled between a first main terminal and a gate terminal of the thyristor, and a control circuit. The control circuit is configured to control the gate coupling circuit to conduct a pulse of current through the gate terminal to render the thyristor conductive at a firing time during a half cycle of the AC power source, and to allow the gate coupling circuit to conduct at least one other pulse of current after the firing time during the half cycle. The load control device is further arranged to conduct current through the electrical load if the thyristor becomes non-conductive and remains non-conductive during the half-cycle.

    摘要: A load control device for controlling the power delivered from an AC power source to an electrical load includes a thyristor, a gate coupling circuit for conducting a gate current through a gate of the thyristor, and a control circuit for controlling the gate coupling circuit to conduct the gate current through a first current path to render the thyristor conductive at a firing time during a half cycle. The gate coupling circuit is able to conduct the gate current through the first current path again after the firing time, but the gate current is not able to be conducted through the gate from a transition time before the end of the half-cycle until approximately the end of the half-cycle. The load current is able to be conducted through a second current path to the electrical load after the transition time until approximately the end of the half-cycle.

    摘要: A load control device for controlling the power delivered from an AC power source to an electrical load includes a thyristor, a first current path for conducting current through a gate terminal of the thyristor, and a control circuit for controlling the first current path to conduct a pulse of current through the gate terminal to render the thyristor conductive at a firing time during a half cycle. The first current path is able to conduct at least one other pulse of current through the gate terminal again after the firing time until, a transition time before the end of the half-cycle, but prevented from conducting pulses of current after the transition time until the end of the half-cycle. The load control device may comprise a second current path for conducting current through the electrical load between the transition time and the end of the half-cycle.

    摘要: Method of controlling electric valves of a converter using a universal algorithm for generating pilot signals (11) for multistage and multiphase line- and self-commutated converters (13, 14) is specified, by means of which it is possible to control different types of converters. The control algorithm can be realized as hardware or software. The invention is particularly suitable for multisystem locomotives. It is possible to change over to another feed system of the locomotive by a simple reprograming of a modulator (9) of a pilot signal generator (10). The modulator (9) and a pulse generator (8) receive modulator control signals (7) or pulse generator control signals (6) from a setter (5), together with which they form the pilot signal generator (10).

    摘要: Electrical apparatus such as a VAR generator or convertor is taught for high-voltage application. The electrical apparatus includes series stacked silicon controlled rectifiers, some of which operate at high electrical potential. Switching information is provided to the thyristors by way of insulating light pipes. The energy for actuating the gate of the thyristor in each case is provided by a current transformer which in some instances is interconnected with the anode of the thyristor in question to monitor the anode current thereof in a previous half cycle of conduction. In other instances, anode current of another thyristor are monitored. The anode current is converted to stored charge which is later released through a light actuated switch to the gate for energization of the thyristor in question. This means that a thyristor may be repeatedly energized even after many intervals of full cycle conduction where no anode to cathode potential is available for charging a capacitor.

    摘要: A circuit arrangement is disclosed having an odd number of Y-connected frequency converters. The control units of the frequency converters are associated with current regulators, all of which are addressed by an additional common reference value. In accord with the invention, the aforesaid reference value is derived by generating a difference voltage corresponding to the difference of the voltages at the neutral point of the frequency converter circuit and the neutral point of the load. This difference voltage is then passed through a delay member whose time constant corresponds to the time constant of the load to develop the reference value.
